im joking obviously but oh my word she is driving me insane.

she is 4 and is the most whingey whiney child i have ever kniwn. someome less kind wuld call her a spoilt brat.

anything thats not precisely as she wants gets a tantrum. she will literally whine from the time she wakes until she finally falls asleep.

i haven't put nough milk in the cereal/too much milk
she doesn't want to wear that outfit/shoes/coat
doesn't want to brush her hair/teeth
doesn't want to go to school
wants sweets after school. no not those sweets, these (ridiculous largeand expensive) sweets.
i dont want to go to nanny/friend/home/neighbour's house
i dont want to play this/that
she can't get the dolly dressed
she doesn't wnt that lunch even though she chose it
she doesn't want to go shopping
wants every single thing she passes whilst in the store.
doesn't want to collect Db from school. doesn't want to go to the park/.shop/home
doesn't want that for her tea even though she chose it
doesn't want a bath. hair wash.teeth brushed
doesn't want tht story
doesn't want to go to bed.

honestly. if i had a stopwatch for each time she whined i think it would take up the vast majority of the day. in fact i would go as far to say that i would be shocked if there was more than 2 hours total of quiet from her.

i really am at my wits end with her.
and i have raised a child with ASD and have been on more challenging behaviour courses than i can remember.

Just wanted to say I feel for you. Ignore all of the above (or below depending on whether you have flipped this page or not!). Easier said than done I know, but deep breaths. Don't give any sweets after school, don't get her anything from the store. Bedtime - just do what you have to do. Ignore all the whinging. Leave the room frequently if you have to and bite down on a towel!!!! Come back in ridiculously cheerful and chit chat about trivia.

Good luck.

ithinkimtallandblonde · 01/04/2009 18:08

fattie do we have the same child?

fattiemumma · 01/04/2009 18:14

i hope so, in that case i could send her back to you!

She can have BOTH of mine. I'll even pay the air fare to NY.

Try: [email protected]

But is your dd cute enough ???

That seems to be madge's main criteria...

But if madge is looking for a 4 year old showing all the behaviour listed above then I will elbow you out of the way to offer my very cute 4 year old ds1

poshtottie · 01/04/2009 18:42

I might send her ds, I'd love to know how she gets her kids to eat a microbiotic diet.

Ds would throw a major tantrum if there were no spaghetti hoops.

AlistairSimnelcake · 01/04/2009 18:45

I thought you meant Madge from Neighbours.

I'm not sure current affairs are my thing.

im not that fussy, if Madge from neighbours is on the lookout she can have ger too.

OP posts:
HeadFairy · 01/04/2009 18:47

I bet Madge isn't the one who has to shovel all that healthy crap food down their throats... she breezes in as the nanny plonks down a plate of wheatgrass and alfalfa sprouts, then breezes out for another four hours of yoga while nanny whips away wheatgrass/alfalfa nightmare and replaces with spaghetti hoops and turkey twizzlers while they sit down and smoke/chat/mnet

IwoulddoDrWho · 01/04/2009 18:48

Madge don't get her kids to eat anything. That's the nanny's job.

IwoulddoDrWho · 01/04/2009 18:50

X-posted HF, but you were much more eloquent than me. Madge also welcome to choose from my nest of vipers. Am loving this as a threat.

poshtottie · 01/04/2009 18:52

As a nanny I once got into trouble for giving the kids icecream for pud.

One of the kids was only allowed half a sandwhich in her lunch box as her mum was worried about her weight. She was only 7!!!

HeadFairy · 01/04/2009 18:54

So you don't have to be a looney pop star to have wierd food obssessions then poshtottie?

The Madge adoption thing is a good threat though.. will save that one for when ds is old enough to understand. Remember Madge doesn't let her children watch tv either, double whammy on the threat front!

poshtottie · 01/04/2009 19:05

Headfairy, they were american aswell. I didn't stay long.

I got told off for leaving a bit of soap on the plates when washing up, she said I was trying to poison them.

were you?

HeadFairy · 01/04/2009 19:08

You could always try Angelina otherwise Riven, though the lack of wacky food is less appealing
