I wouldn't care if I was talking to friends on the phone but I work from home and I am with her all day, the only time she does not have my attention is when I am on the bloody phone and she starts screaming and shouting and I feel bloody embarrassed when I am talking to customers.

I have tried reasoning with her and telling her how important it is that Mummy works, and even putting cbeebies on but nothing works.
Help please.......

I work from home 4 days per week, school hours.
DS1 is at school and DS2 is at Childminders.
Often the phone will ring after 3.30pm, so as not to appear unprofessional I either run to the downstairs loo (relatively soundproofed) or ring them back when DH is back or the boys are quiet and I can find somewhere to "hide". If only they knew...
It is tough, but to be expected, they are children fgs. You just have to be creative to work around it, I'm afraid.
I'd be more bothered about the baby crying halfway through a call tbh

Oh it was funny as well, Gorionine, don't be (but it was a bit weird...)

Well Mamaje, MN is here to help - you asked if you were being unreasonable and the resounding answer is YES...! I do not believe you can REASON with a 3 year old! You are wasting your breath and giving yourself unnecessary stress.!

Distraction or making sure your telephone working hours are when she is at nursery and when she is at home, you are there for her and can do parts of your job that don't require a 3 year old to be silent on cue.

It is a well known fact that mum on the phone is like honey to a bee.

No-one can work from home with DC around. Mine go to nursery two days per week and that is when I work.

If I so much as open my laptop when they are around, they hurl themselves onto me shouting and trying to sabbotage my computer. Phone calls equally out of the question. They hate it.
