To think that wearing your boyfriend's shirt to work....

...is just a way of bragging about the fact you are having lots and lots of sex?

I'm not talking those cowboy shirts which are popular at the moment, or even a shirt worn as a kind of cardigan, but a normal, pinstripe men's cotton shirt of the type you would wear to a meeting or a job interview just worn as a huge shirt. With the front tied in a knot to exaggerate the fact it is a man's shirt and far too big and to make it look 'sexy'.

Maybe it's just me or maybe it's just the irritating woman I know who keeps wearing them, and the fact that she'll keep adjusting the collar and making comments like "oooh, this shirt is so uncomfortable, I don't know how [boyfriend] wears them!" and then keeps on wearing the sodding things anyway. I kind of feel we are meant to think that she is so busy getting fucked that she can't locate her own clothing.

I know IABU and a of course a tiny bit envious and yes I should have better things to worry about, but is it just me?

sounds like she wants the world to know how shaggadelic her relationship is. And how totally exciting and whirlwind it is so she can never predict ahead of time that she'll be spending the night with her legs in the air and so couldn't possibly plan far enough ahead to take clean clothes with her.

You could always say "oh I know, and how they manage in these pants is a mystery, isn't it" while adjusting your gusset visibly...

expatinscotland · 18/03/2009 11:15

Gross.

It's a good thing she's not working in the legal field.

I can't imagine getting away with something that unprofessional in that field.

moopymoo · 18/03/2009 11:16

oh she would annoy me. Ask her if she remembers to take clean undies with her. Though on second thoughts that might make you look a bit odd...lol at 'she is so busy getting fucked that she can't locate her own clothing.'

StealthPolarBear · 18/03/2009 11:17

You could just say with a straight face that she needs to be more organised and think about her packing in advance. Tell her then she'll be both comfortable and professional.

expatinscotland · 18/03/2009 11:19

I'd actually report this person to the manager because it would get old having to listen to that.

Tee2072 · 18/03/2009 11:20

Anyone who is bragging that much? Ain't getting it that much.

Maybe she's just bought some shirts and made up a boyfriend...

gagamama · 18/03/2009 11:23

In fairness the dress code is pretty slack, so it's not really a professionalism thing. It just makes me feel a little queasy.

But I am actually genuinely wondering though if there would be any other reason for wearing one. In my mind it just screams 'I'm having my brains shagged out' but maybe there is some other purpose? I just can't think what.

Perhaps her house was burgled. Perhaps her wardrobe caught fire!

I don't immediately associate big shirts with lots of sex. I am clearly deprived

moopymoo · 18/03/2009 11:26

She sounds very insecure actually. Like she feels special when shes getting it, a lot of her identity and self worth around being wanted sexually. However, she still sounds a bit of a knob.

AMumInScotland · 18/03/2009 11:26

I think if she keeps commenting that they're uncomfortable, she must have some reason for wearing them . Personally I quite often wear mens shirts but that's because I find them comfy!

OrmIrian · 18/03/2009 11:26

Ask her if she finds boxer shorts a bit uncomfortable.

hobbgoblin · 18/03/2009 11:29

Can you just say - "I've never met a cross dresser brave enough to come to work as her alter ego - do you use the same name when you are dressing as 'him'?" ?

tessofthedurbervilles · 18/03/2009 11:29

Can't be that great a relationship if she hasn't been able to leave some spare clothes at his gaffe.

tessofthedurbervilles · 18/03/2009 11:30

AND she must be in yesterday's crusty pants.....ewwww, could you complain about her smelling just to get your own back?

shirleyc · 18/03/2009 11:34

Sympathise with her.

Say, "it must be really upsetting that your new boyfriend doesn't want you to move a few bits and bobs in yet. How do you manage without a tooth brush?"

wotulookinat · 18/03/2009 11:48

When she next complains, just say 'well, why don't you wear your own clothes then?'

tallulahbelly · 18/03/2009 11:55

I can just about remember the days when I thought I'd invented sex.

I must have been pitiable - but to be fair I was a teenager. Is she, or does she not even that excuse?

I'm still bragging, it seems

mindalina · 18/03/2009 11:56

lol georgimama. That's the best plan imho

jennybensmummy · 18/03/2009 11:57

could she be pregnant and trying to hide it???

Nabster · 18/03/2009 12:04

Why not just ask her why she is wearing her boyfriend's clothes.
