To want to start again at 43?

Brief summary...

I am 43 with 2 children wanting to start up a relationship with a 48 year old who is divorced and also children.

I can't get out of my head that I am too old to start again and it's too late for me now.
43 just seems so old to me and I think I this is it for me now.

Oviously there would be the difficulties of step children ,previous partners etc.

Is it possible to start again?
Would appreciate anyones elses experiences.

Am feeling a bit more optimistic about the future today.
Keep reading your posts and realise maybe there is life after 40.

Of course there is life after 40, I am living proof !!

Let's hope there is life for me after 40.

Feel the years racing away from me.

Don't get me started on how quick the time goes between 40 and 50. Seems like the weekends come round every 3 days and Christmas is every couple of months.

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 10/03/2009 21:01

my 'life' did not start till i was 36

i met 2nd husband and had three kids (last one at 40)

when i look back to my 'former' life i could NEVER have imagined how happy I am today

you go for it girl!!

whitestripes · 10/03/2009 21:41

I suspose I am full of regret for all those wasted years we could have been together.

Then again, maybe it was'nt our time then, maybe the time is right now.

I'd say go for it, whitestripes, follow your heart! I'm also 43 with 2 children, and if I wasn't already happily married I'd definitely grab the chance.

whitestripes · 11/03/2009 15:54

Will give it my best shot.

lucky you OP! loads of women out there who would love to start up again at 43!

just go for it and have fun!.

Lots of things to think and work through but if this guy is good to you / for you and you can work together then the barriers wont be there for long.

Smile and enjoy!

piscesmoon · 12/03/2009 14:12

Go for it-life is for living-never write yourself off as too old!
