I HATE listening to the BBC news in the morning, when the news readers say "its is EXACTLY half past six" because I always end up shouting "IT IS NOT!!" because it surely can never be EXACTLY unless they string out the sixxxxxx until it is exactly that time.

I get annoyed when people talk about the coins and say that the Queen is on the FRONT of the coin, she is on the back. Because if you were looking at all the pictures of all the coins, you'd put the Queen down to see the pics, therefore she is the back of the coin. And its only "heads and tails" because its a picture of her head.

When I'm really stroppy, I get annoyed at the Kool Kids sign near my house. If they wanted to use alliteration, use Cool Children, surely?!

So... what gets your goat for no reason

Anorexics.
I feel like shaking them and saying "You're not fooling anybody, we can see that you're deluded about your body size which is unhealthily bony. Now go off and have a decent size meal."

(Instead of casually mentioning all the yummy things you've given up for Lent, or similar).

I know it sounds incredibly mean of me, but bear in mind.... I used to have an eating disorder myself, though; I know a lot about "denial".

pavlovthecat · 06/03/2009 18:53

Phil Collins.

Victoria Derbyshire.

People who park their little cars on my street far away from each other meaning I have to park at the very end of my road. If they just parked their cars properly, there would be enough space for mine. Learn to park properly. Please.

People who put their bags on bus seats and refuse to move them even though the bus is packed, until you ask 'excuse me, can I sit there please?' Why should I have to ask? I bought my ticket, its not your seat!

Saltire · 06/03/2009 18:53

Old people who arrive alst at the bus station. Then when the driver arrives for the bus, they all barge to teh front, even though the driver isn't going to let them on for another 5 minutes, then when the people who were there first try and get on before them they elbow them out the way and say "I'm a pensioner". yes. So? It doesn't mean you can't have manners.

People who just stop right in front of you as you are wlaking along and you bang into tehm
people who let their toddler wander about all over the shopping cnetre,w hislt the parents are on their mobile/smoking/with their friends, said toddler then A) Get knocked over by someone
B) Starts crying thinking they are lost and when nice person stops to ask if they are ok, the mother, who by this point is a good few meteres away comes chargin up and demands to know why you are touching their child.

Can you tell I was shpooing today

ScottishMummy · 06/03/2009 18:54

"professional" mothers who start sentences with "as a mother".big wow you had a baby

Saltire · 06/03/2009 18:54

Pavlov - the old people I mentioned in my post do that. there was one today wouldn't move her bag, she said "I'm in the pensioner seats and you're not a pensioner" to a oyung lad who ahd got on

lljkk · 06/03/2009 18:55

Andie MacDowell full stop is a mighty irritant. She doesn't have to say anything, her very existance gets on my tits.

Trinityrhino · 06/03/2009 18:55

screamingabdab · 06/03/2009 18:56

jooseyfruit · 06/03/2009 18:57

continuing the annoying ad theme,
the Lenor one where it says
"turns that sweatshirt...........into a playground"

really really irritating

pavlovthecat · 06/03/2009 18:57

Saltire - but neither are their bags!!! Lad at least has a paid for ticket, unlike the bags! AND, they can be used by anyone, but you are requested to give them up should a pensioner/person in need get on... grrrrr.

screamingabdab · 06/03/2009 18:59

lijkk
Yes, that advert where Andi McDowell goes on about deep wrinkles, whilst doing a massive great fake frown What, you mean FACIAL EXPRESSIONS?

KingRolo · 06/03/2009 18:59

ScottishMummy - reminds me how annoyed I am with Myleen Klass and all her baby related books / clothing ranges etc.

She has ONE small baby FFS! She is not the only person in the world to have done this!

Saltire · 06/03/2009 18:59

Anne Robinson saying 'thousant' instead of 'thousand' really bugs the hell out of me!

Thunderduck · 06/03/2009 19:01

Lurpak lids, they never go back on properly.

People who sit next to me on the bus when there are plenty of double seats free.

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 06/03/2009 19:03

People who invade my personal space. There was a women in the office who would get too close, I'd take a step back and she'd take two forward... take a hint love, I have a wide personal space, respect it!

OP posts:
Thunderduck · 06/03/2009 19:04

I'll second that Elf.

GossipMonger · 06/03/2009 19:04

parents who cannot be arsed to dress their kids up for WBD!

parents who cannot be bothered to hear their child read in a whole month

Surfermum · 06/03/2009 19:05

The local radio station who describe certain roads and junctions as having "issues". They have heavy traffic, accidents or roadworks FFS, not "issues".

Oh and the way dh stirs my tea.

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 06/03/2009 19:05

Whats WBD?

OP posts:
clam · 06/03/2009 19:06

The suggestive M & S adverts for orgasm-inducing foods, including wine, which say 'Please drink responsibly' at the foot of the screen. Yeah, like your average M&S food-shopper is going to be vomiting in the gutter, showing their knickers to anyone passing.

mrsmaidamess · 06/03/2009 19:07

world book day

ScottishMummy · 06/03/2009 19:07
