Walked to the bus stop with dh this morning going to work and he nipped to the shop while i waited at the stop. I hadnt had time for breakfast so asked dh to grab me something from the shop. I was expecting a cereal bar or some fruit, but no I got a chicken and bacon sandwich.....He thinks IABU for telling him there was no way i could eat that for breakfast. Are all men this strange.....

each to their own!
I would love a chicken and bacon sandwich at any time of day!If my dh had presented me with a cereal bar I would have been most disappointed.

However you are not unreasonable in expecting your dh to understand YOUR tastes unless you just got married last week following an arranged marriage

Trinityrhino · 03/03/2009 22:50

sounds lovely to me
you were hungry, he bought you nice food

Stinkyfeet · 03/03/2009 22:51

He saw the word bacon and didn't read any further I expect! I'd be pleased with that sarnie though!

SerendipitousHarlot · 03/03/2009 22:51

Why would you not eat that for breakfast?

FAQinglovely · 03/03/2009 22:51

mmmm - that's making me hungry actually that thought...........

girlandboy · 03/03/2009 22:52

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm yummy. Now I want one.

edam · 03/03/2009 22:52

No, he was being reasonable. He thought "bacon sandwich = breakfast". You said "buy me something for breakfast" but forgot to mention you had specific, detailed categories of cereal-based products in mind.

LittleCheese · 03/03/2009 22:53

i prob should have mentioned that i dont eat this kind of sandwich however i also find it very odd "breakfast" food...he ended up eating it, perhaps that was his thoughts in the first place

it wasnt a bacon sandwich though that i could have coped with it was a cold pre packed chicken and bacon...in my eyes it was just wrong

Sounds delicious to me, but I do have any leftovers (especially curry) for breakfast so perhaps my taste buds are wrecked.

Probably just didn't think anything beyond the bacon, my DH would do the same. In fact he often gets me a white coffee if he's buying. I don't drink white coffee. We have been together over 20 years.

sobanoodle · 03/03/2009 22:57

cereal bars are vile imo. bacon all the way

steviesgirl · 03/03/2009 22:57

YABU for making such a big issue out of it. It's only bloody food.

MrsMerryHenry · 03/03/2009 22:57

Um...AIBU to find this topic a little...boring?

MrsMerryHenry I'll have you know that the underuse of chicken mixed with bacon as a breakfast food is cause for important debate

MrsMerryHenry · 03/03/2009 23:08

Sorry, sorry, I should've known. Clearly IABU. I'll get back to my PhD in Japanese BioMechanochemical Engineering.

weebump · 03/03/2009 23:11

YUBU. All men are this strange. Most people are. At least there's less sugar than in a cereal bar. That, imo, is not a good breakfast.

Pan · 03/03/2009 23:15

You mean "AIBU to start this thread?" Yep. You are. Post something a bit more..intersting?

MrsMerryHenry · 03/03/2009 23:19

Pan! Hallooooo! I agree with you, mate.

Pan · 03/03/2009 23:24

hey-ho Mrs T!

Janos · 04/03/2009 07:32

Hmmm, dunno I think it's a weird breakfast food as well.

It was nice of him to buy it of course but why would you want it for breakfast?

I like cereal bars
