Walked to the bus stop with dh this morning going to work and he nipped to the shop while i waited at the stop. I hadnt had time for breakfast so asked dh to grab me something from the shop. I was expecting a cereal bar or some fruit, but no I got a chicken and bacon sandwich.....He thinks IABU for telling him there was no way i could eat that for breakfast. Are all men this strange.....

I'd love something like that for breakfast - YABU!

MaryBS · 04/03/2009 07:47

I reckon he saw the bacon, and bacon = breakfast.

I'd rather have a sandwich than a cereal bar, as they are more filling.

2pt4kids · 04/03/2009 08:01

Sounds fine to me!

ChippingIn · 04/03/2009 09:15

YANBU You are married, he should know what kind of thing you like to eat for breakfast.

insertwittynicknameHERE · 04/03/2009 09:17

Sounds like what my DH would have come back with, and TBH I would have eaten it lol (I am pg though so not a lot I wont eat ATM)

I think if you wanted a cereal bar or something you should have told him that.

I would have thought that was odd a while back...not now. I tend to have a few biccies with my morning tea, then take ds to school and buy a chicken and sweetcorn sarnie in tescos on the way home. Delish!

mumeeee · 04/03/2009 13:16

YABU. You Dh bought you a sandwhich which is much more substantial then a cereal bar or fruit.
I wpuld have loved that for breakfast.

MumtoCharlieandLola · 04/03/2009 13:23

Sorry littlecheese but I think people are being unreasonable to post on here ,

I'm with Mrs T and Pan !

YABU if you do not have a known specific dislike of any of the ingredients.

I am specific with my DH as his idea of a breakfast snack would probably be some kind of large pie

LittleCheese · 05/03/2009 15:35

jazz hand dh sounds similar to yours i should have expected it really once on a long journey he went into the services for some snacks and came back with pies, bearing in mind we were having lunch with friends an hour and half later

Littlecheese - your DH bought a sandwich that he would like. Its what blokes do.

I would suggest you drop heavy hints about what you would like for your birthday though - otherwise you will get a power drill and a nail gun.

JazzHands · 06/03/2009 13:59

littlecheese

Count yourself lucky he didn't come back laden with a KFC party bucket for your breakfast snack!

Geetar · 06/03/2009 14:19

I would be pleased with that. Not odd at all IMO.

DrTrillianAstra · 06/03/2009 14:25

I am fussy about food - not that there are lots of things I won't eat but that when I want something to eat I usually want a specific type of thing to eat, not just 'food'. So I would have been more specific in asking for 'something for breakfast'.
