when people don't read the thread and think they have had an original thought that has already been posted several times and been explained away?

Jack fucking Tweed can't have his curfew moved to Jade's house because she has children and his horrifically violent crime was committed against a child.

So, even though I know that it's bad form to post "ffs read the thread fgs!" I still wish people would read the fecking thread!

so. come on, AIBU?

You know what else pisses me off?

People who come onto a thread, post FFS or similar and piss off again. what's the point? What do they mean? What are they FFS'ing about? What's their point? Is it FFS at the op, or at one of the responses? What? It's simply not clear!!! What are they on about?? Why bother putting anything if you are just going to put ffs? What kind of contribution is that?

FairLadyRantALot · 27/02/2009 22:21

well yabu and yanbu, lol...because I feel your pain...but depends on the lenght of thread sometimes...if it is very long I may just read first and last page.....to get the drift...but that doesn't mean I get the drift...doesn't always stop me giving my opinion

But the Jack stuff is sooooo obvious and there really is only so much you can say about it, isn't there? One posts because really, the world NEEDS to know that any idea of lifting restrictions on a violent criminal for reasons of sentiment because a sleb is involved is simply NOT ON. Therefore people will post to emphasise the principle and let people know that there still are people in this country who haven't got their values arse about tit.

YABU

clam · 28/02/2009 13:36

Pardon?!!! No, no, no! Very common, apparently!

twinsetandpearls · 28/02/2009 13:38

I often post on a thread without reading as I often mumsnet in a rush, I always say have not read the thread though.

bytheLiffey · 28/02/2009 13:42

MrsThierryHenry has already made this point, but I second it, if that's ok! if the thread is quite short I read it all before posting, but if it's already at 14 pages then I might barge in with my opinion.

Jux · 28/02/2009 16:06

Imagine you're with a bunch of mates having a coffee and a chat. Another mate turns up late and, realising the subject of the conversation, puts in their two penn'orth. Do you all get cross because that point has been made half an hour ago?

mm22bys · 28/02/2009 16:17

I started a thread once, and got a reasonable number of responses, and it did really piss me of when I added more facts later on, and someone who posted immediately after me asked exactly what I had just posted.

It did make me want to scream!

Can't remember what thread it was though
