To think that this is a terrible concept for a film and the writers should be ashamed of themselve

Im pretty easy going when it comes to films and tv. while there are some programmes that i would never watch because i dont agree with the idea behind them, i accept that other people do. part of lifes rich tapestry etc.

however, Im horrified that a film has been released about a woman being haunted by the possessed spirit of her miscarried twin brother. it may be that im just ultra-sensitive on this subject. i accept that. but i think its a disgusting premise for a film.

Just the trailer for The Unborn is enoughto freak me out.Seriously. I wandered how many people would find the subject offensive (treatment of the subject I mean) It is a naff premise, but then so is most horror. (apart from House of Wax which made me laugh)

Flightattendant27 · 23/02/2009 13:11

Thanks, Sycamore. I might try and see that H Ford one, I fancy him in nearly everything

I get v freaked out though. Easily.

Sycamoretree · 23/02/2009 13:13

That one is freaky and, erm, unexpected!

pingping · 23/02/2009 13:21

What Lies beneath scared the crap out of me had to turn it off.

Also Hostel is one of the sickest weirdest films I have ever seen

AnnVan House of wax made me laugh as well.

harleyd · 23/02/2009 13:24

pingping · 23/02/2009 13:33

pingping · 23/02/2009 13:47

Also The Grudge had me hiding My friends laugh at me alot for my fear of horror films lol

jumpingbeans · 23/02/2009 13:51

What is it with clowns, my dd who is in her 30's is really scared of them, where she got it from god only knows, but it seems quite common, this is only as she has got older she was fine when she was little and they did not bothr her at all

I don't think it is. It's an interesting concept that twins can 'communicate' with each other in utero and after birth too.

Not my cuppa I suspect but not that terrible.

themoon66 · 23/02/2009 14:06

Hostel is vile. It haunted me for months afterwards and I'm a seriously hardened horror film fan.

Grudge was good.

The Ring is the creepiest/scariest film IMHO.

Oh... and the one about the hotel room with John Cusak (1498 or something)

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 23/02/2009 14:15

apparently the Descent and Silent Hill are suppose to be terrifyingly scary, this is second hand knowledge as trailers can be enough to give me nightmares for weeks and therefore I avoid horror films.

harleyd · 23/02/2009 14:17

decent was good

harleyd · 23/02/2009 14:17

descent

pingping · 23/02/2009 14:19

1498 was good bit weird but good.

The ring is freaky shit

Saw films are great but very gruesome.

I haven't seen silent hill but I am sure I watched the descent.

theyoungvisiter · 23/02/2009 14:24

Blair Witch is clever - especially the way you never see anything much

harleyd · 23/02/2009 14:26

blair witch was the most rubbish film ive ever seen!

pingping · 23/02/2009 14:28

It was good how they filmed the blair witch most of it was real reactions from the crew like when the girl was crying she really was crying and scared watch the making of the film

harleyd · 23/02/2009 14:32

i think the filming of it was clever...but it just didnt live up to the whole hype around it for me

intheLiffey · 23/02/2009 14:35

The Blair witch project was brilliant. On the edge of my seat the entire film. The last scene omg!

harleyd · 23/02/2009 14:37

thats where i felt let down though...i was just thinking yes here we go...and then.....nothing!!!!
total anti-climax

intheLiffey · 23/02/2009 14:39

Is there anything more terrifying than the notion of being possessed? To me that wasn't nothing, it was like death but scarier.

PuppyMonkey · 23/02/2009 14:42

Hard to beat The Shining (imho) for a high quality horror...

Red rum, red rum, red rum...

theyoungvisiter · 23/02/2009 14:43

I have never seen Rosemary's Baby as I've been pregnant or looking after a small baby every time I've seen it in the video shop.

Too close to the bone?!
