Last 2 days has not been nice for me, looking on here it seems people have loved having their kids home and enjoyed 'making memories' etc but for me the last 2 days have completely drained me! The roads here are not brilliant but i still sent DS off in his taxi (i have assumed the taxi driver is more experienced than me and therfore safer for DS!) and DH has taken DD to playschool down some horrid icy back roads but if the staff can do it then so can we!
I need a bath and am going to get back into bed for some R and R!
So i suppose im an awful mummy!

ive loved having the snow now my dcs are 3 and 4 they can enjoy it. they were of school mon and tuesday and due to go back today. But roads are like a skid pan and its a long drive on country roads to school. So kept them off phoned school and explained and they understood my reason. With the weather forcast they could end up being off all week as i dont think risking there life on the roads is worth it for a few hours at school

Awh, scample, that's so sweet.
How old is he?

tjacksonpfc · 04/02/2009 14:16

sorry dont no how it came up twice

Fleurlechaunte · 04/02/2009 14:36

Agree with Gateau. I have had great fun being with my dc over the past couple of days. Has been really special. In fact ds has a slight chill today so kept him off for another day. I love it when he is at home.

if you are then we all are

2 days off school was enough for me

there is only so much playing in the snow we can do

and watching tv

scampadoodle · 04/02/2009 15:18

He's 7, Gateau. I think it was the snowball fight after dark, instigated by me, that was the highlight!

Whilst I'm pleased to have found out DCs school is closed again tomorrow I am wondering why - they were off yesterday (lots of snow but not impassable) and back today (not much snow left this morning)but now all the snow has melted, its not even that cold but they have made the decision to close the school tomorrow anyway. I shan't be taking them out to play in the snow and build snowmen as there isn't any snow left. I guess we'll go off and have a day out somewhere, it'll be quiet as I imagine most other schools round here will be open as usual. 'd rather they just closed it for the rest of the week now I'm not sure I can be bothered to sit and listen to the radio on Friday to wait to find out.

Probably because the forcast says we are going to get 12cm in some areas tonight depends where you live. I will not be at all surprised to learn out school won't be open. It's not the taking them, the school has the responsibility of making sure all the kids are collected, if the weather takes a turn for the worse, they can't risk the chance that some parents won't get there to collect! Then they will have to bed some kids down for the night!

Cool its back to sledging, snow animal building and more snowball fights followed by hot cocoa - my idea of a fun day - much better than doing housework !

DaphneMoon · 04/02/2009 16:40

Yes and it looks like we are in for more snow on Friday too. Yippee.

BONKERZ · 05/02/2009 07:32

school shut again in leicestershire, we must have had between 8-10cm here last night! more forecast for today and tonight.

school shut again in wiltshire more snow over night, and more forcast seems strange how they closed monday and tuesday opened yesterday but closed again today. i dont no why we dont just write the week off now and call it quits. then we can start again monday snow allowing.
