To want to change my mind and buy an x-box 360 just so I can play Guitar Hero?

DH has wanted one for ages. I have been a nag about not getting one, as I have seen many of my friends become x-box widows, and DH has a history of becoming heavily involved in on-line games, to the detriment of his long-suffering wife.

However, I have just played on our friend's Guitar Hero, and it is the most fun I have had in a long time!

DH and I have been talking, before this, about how we need to get some common things to do in the evenings, other than just tv, computer, mn! This would be perfect, we can play on our own (so I can get to be a rock chick and rock my friends into oblivion!), together, and we can play with our friends when they come over.

Am I mad? Will this pass? I really really really want it, and feel like such a turn-coat! DH does not mind that, but is finding it all rather amusing!

AIBU to want it?

£129.99 for the Rock Band bundle at Game, is that not about the same as Guitar Hero World Tour?

I would have thought you could just get the Rock Band game and a guitar, but I don't know for certain.

if you look at the guitar hero website it will give you a list of all the songs available on guitar hero; I think aerosmith and metallica have guitar hero specials, but a lot of songs are on both gh and rb. You could buy individual guitar to begin with and then buy other instruments later. World tour is the first gh to be all instruments, but from now on all gh will be all instruments. The earlier gh games were guitar only.

no, millyr, i got rock band for the wii, and he wanted guitar hero world tour for the ps3, so i got it wrong on both counts....all ok now though

I also read you can play both rb and gh on the same guitar; you don't need to buy duplicate instruments, but you might need to check that.

Giddy - you can buy the world Tour Guitar pack - for between £60-70. We would get that, its half the price. If its more than that, along with the console, in january not a good idea!!!

MillyR - I think I will get guitar hero then. As that as my original idea....now, lets see what deals I can get.

I am very pleased I did not even get one 'no do not do it'!!!!

Get a wii soooo much more fun than an xbox or playstation and less easy to get addicted to. I talk as a gamnig widow myself.

OK so consoles - game have one at £144 for x-box 360 arcade plus some games plus 2 wireless controllers. I think that is good and I can get it tomorrow.

So where can I collect the Guitar Hero - argos did some-one say? Anywhere cheaper than that? I can get it from ebay for £44, but wont get it by tomorrow!

If I walk into Game tomorrow, will I be able to pick it all up for the same price as on line? £58 for the World Tour bundle (guitar only) + £144 for the console as above. Reasonable?

mumof2andabit - in theory I would agree, and would love to. But I can't stretch to that amount of initial outlay . Wiis are sooooooo expensive!

I will try Zavvi, but I am sure if they have deals, they will be gone by tomorrow!

Was in Zavvi today btw - saw games reduced and quite a bit of stock
