my dh came home with what looked like a love bite on the side of his neck, i did ask him what it was and he said it was a flea bite, i don't know what to think because our dog has been on holiday for the past 6 weeks. he has been going out a lot more than usual and he says it's just work drinks.

I know I tried to expand on the keeping on a leash for comedic affect but just could not do it,

beaniebaby25 · 22/12/2008 13:57

iirc fleas usually bite people more when the animal they usually live/feed on is not around. fleas could have laid eggs in soft furniture or carpets etc - not wholly unlikely that he could have been bitten by a flea but I dont think would not look similar to a love bite...

twinsetiscrapatflouncing · 22/12/2008 13:58

I totally mis read OldLadie's post as saying you usually get love bites around your ankles.

PingpingsatonSantasface · 22/12/2008 13:58

Are you serious? I would google an image of the two and then point out that a flea bite does not look nothing like a lovebite.

beaniebaby25 · 22/12/2008 13:58

i clearly meant 'dont think it would look similar to a flea bite'

poshwellies · 22/12/2008 14:00

Laughs @ flea bite-must have HUGE fleas wherever your dh holidayed, more original than 'the hoover did it' I guess.

twinsetiscrapatflouncing · 22/12/2008 14:04

has your husband been to one of these sordid sex parties

loobeylou · 22/12/2008 14:05

if this is for real then I am not surprised that fleas would start to bite people when they hatch in the carpets etc, if doggie not there for 6 weeks. we had similar embarrassing problem when we moved into a flea ridden house

but these 2 bites look nothing like each other (come on some clever person, do a link with piccies in!), although to be fair, some people CAN be sort of allergic to flea bites and if he has been rubbing/scratching it might look bruised? (but there would still be an obvious bite/lump)
