I received an email from facebook earlier giving me a warning for a picture I had in one of my albums. Apperntley it was too obscene and if I posted it again I would be banned.

Iam fuming at this and really want to complain about their negativity.

The picture is the first one on my profile. Is it obscene, because I really dont think it is.

I'm shocked at their attitude!

I don't think so NKFSOMH, a pic of a nipple is more in context with a parenting site after all.

aam · 21/12/2008 18:43

I've had pics like that taken

Tbh, to capture the babys expression you have a split second.

The nipple is secondary to his lovely, contented expression. Irrelevant really.

YANBU.

lou33 · 21/12/2008 18:43

you would need photoshop or something similar

louii · 21/12/2008 18:44

Dont see the reason for your boob being in the photo TBH, you obviously took the photo of your baby looking cute, so no need for the boob.

lou33 · 21/12/2008 18:53

no reason not to have her boob in shot either, it's a lovely pic

NewKnickersFromSantaOnMaHead · 21/12/2008 18:55

Thank you

Louii, tis a breastfeeding (well, just finished pic).

I was very proud to breatfeed too, but never wanted to show my breasts to everyone. We're all different!

I don't see why facebook would object to it though, especially if only your friends can see it.

ahfeckit · 21/12/2008 19:01

facebook is anyway, so i'm not surprised the photo was removed. set up a blog and invite your pals to view that, then you can post any pics you like without offending anyone!!

RockinSockBunnies · 21/12/2008 19:01

There's a facebook group you may want to join that challenges their daft anti-breastfeeding photo policy: www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=2517126532

Agree that the photo is hardly pornographic-you'd think facebook had better things to do with their time.

ra29 · 21/12/2008 19:01

There is a group called something like, 'Hey facebook, breastfeeding is not obscene' has loads of members so must be a fairly regular thing for people to be told this!
I've joined- you should too!

ra29 · 21/12/2008 19:02

sorry cross posted!

belgo · 21/12/2008 19:02

Surprised Facebook hasn't got better things to worry about.

NewKnickersFromSantaOnMaHead · 21/12/2008 19:04

I joined it last week. TBH, I was that proud of the pic that I wanted to post it and never even noticed my nipple was showing.

Cannot believe though, that they can take weeks to delete a rascist group yet pull my picture so fast!

all social networking sites are the same, let's face it. been there done that....you have to expect them to have such a militant attitude since they have millions of members. you are just a number to them.

louii · 21/12/2008 19:09

I have loads of lovely breastfeeding photos and videos, very like the one you posted.
I would not sit in a public place and leave my nipple on show when DS finished feeding so would class posting photos on line as the same.

Photobucket once deleted one of my breastfeeding photos, one where you could only see the top of my boob/cleavage, would have seen a lot more if i had been wearing a low cut top or bikini i complained and thet re-instated it

MillyR · 21/12/2008 19:11

YANBU. You should complain, and contact a newspaper about it.

thisisyesterday · 21/12/2008 19:17

not unreasnable at all. facebook have become rather notorious for branding breastfeeding obscene.

you may be interested in this event pon facebook.

a cyber sit-in!

LynetteScavo · 21/12/2008 19:20

Of course YANBU.

On the other hand facebook are!

I think you should join the Facebook group;

Hey, Facebook, breastfeeding is not obscene!(Official petition to Facebook)

NewKnickersFromSantaOnMaHead · 21/12/2008 19:23

I have Lynette

ThisIsYesterday, I will probably get banned on that day as I am already 'attending'.

no you bloody aren't being unreasonable!!! you know you're not!!!!

bloody facebook, it's hardly pornographic is it??? it's your tiny baby laying next to you, i wonder if they'd put up such a fuss if he was laying next to a bottle of milk instead???! just ridicullous.

BouncingTinsel · 21/12/2008 19:59

I'm a member of that group.

NewKnickers - that picture is fab, love the expression on your ds's face, so funny

Facebook are a bunch of tossers!
