ITV news......it's The Beatles all over again because 4 girls were crushed in a stampede....

Poor girls.

Don't like JLS and don't particularly like Beatles either but is it not a bit much to make that kind of comparison?

'popular beat combo' my arse
They're not popular with me.
I don't watch tv (apart from YBF and the odd vid of TOTP 2 disco specials that Pan passes my way).

princessmel · 09/12/2008 22:54

YBF as in You've been framed?

moondog · 09/12/2008 22:55

Aye

Hassled · 09/12/2008 22:55

princessmel · 09/12/2008 22:58

its ok...

The dc's like it.

I prefer Harry Hill or The Wall if I have to choose from tacky weekend tv.

Pan · 09/12/2008 22:59

thanks for outing me!!. btw. dd is now an accomplished street dancer. In a local troupe and infact appearing at Rhyl next Sunday. Go girl. Chip off the old thingy...

moondog · 09/12/2008 23:04

'street dancer' y'say?
What does this involve?

Break dancing?
Tap dancing?
Tango?

Rhyl! Ooh she's in for a treat!

Not

Pan · 09/12/2008 23:07

think Rhiana? No. Too 'new'. Think HSM. No. Too oblique. Errmmm.....think lots of people in ranks doing slightly Michael Jacksonesque moves to a sort of hip hop beat......thats street dance, but they all think it's NEW! Poor souls. yes Rhyl. Fond memories so don't besmirch them please....

moondog · 09/12/2008 23:09

Smokin'!

Oh me too! I went to boarding school about 25 mins from Rhyl and it was where we all started being bad.

CoffeeCrazedMama · 09/12/2008 23:09

dd2 went after school and is today splashed across the national press as part of the crowd. She said it was pretty scarey with lots of pushing and shoving. She couldn't believe a girl not much older than herself was there with a baby in a buggy (which she was ramming into people while screaming at them to mind her [expletive deleted] baby). She says that generally there were some pretty rough aggressive people there.

They were all trying to get the free tickets that had been advertised. There had been a queue that disintergrated when the doors opened.

It sounds to me like the crowd control was pretty dismal (the venue is a pretty tired sort of place usually used for has-beens on tour and school concerts) and they panicked when so many turned up. Priceless publicity for the group though.

I'm glad dd didn't get hurt (despite being pushed into a holly bush) but pleased this has made her less cocky about going to similar 'events'.

roundcornvirgin · 09/12/2008 23:09

I know what street dance is Pan. Can you do it?

Pan · 09/12/2008 23:09

Well she's 8. And I'll be there to make sure she doesn't enjoy herself.

Pan · 09/12/2008 23:10

OP posts:
