I've got dead short hair and sometimes dress a lttle oddly and so far I am a drug-pushing, lesbian-transexual!
Which is a little more exciting than the truth as I am probably the least interesting person in the village. Lol

cocolepew · 18/11/2008 08:19

I live in N.I and have a London(ish) accent, nobody has ever mistaken me for a Pearly Queen .

MarmadukeScarlet · 18/11/2008 08:21

Actually hedgehog is a traditional traveler's feast, so perhaps OP how best to cook and kill them?

Hedgehogs are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act(1981), it is illegal to trap or kill them - I hope this was pointed out to you on your previous thread.

MarmadukeScarlet · 18/11/2008 08:22

Sorry

perhaps OP was asking how best to ...

Highlander · 18/11/2008 08:33

When DH left N Ireland to go to Uni, he says everyone assumed he was a terrorist. He worked hard to drop his accent ASAP These days only people from Ulster can tell he's also from Ulster.

moondog · 18/11/2008 08:37

Is there a separate traveller accent?
How does it go then?

GentleOtter · 18/11/2008 08:44

Here is a bit on traveller's cant language moondog link

Most of the travellers I have spoken with speak very quickly and there is heavy use of cant.
Cant has mingled it's way into the northern Scottish language and can be heard used frequently in conversation aroung Dingwall, Alness etc due to some of the travellers settling a long time ago and intgrating into the community.

MissM · 18/11/2008 08:50

I'm a Jew. But everyone's being tight these credit crunch days so luckily I don't get mistaken for one.

KatieScarlett2833 · 18/11/2008 12:03

The Scotsman is too expensive, the free papers are just as absorbent.

TheCrackFox · 18/11/2008 12:07

Gentleotter, wiping your arse is pretty much all that the Scotsman is good for.

expatinscotland · 18/11/2008 12:16

oh, i don't know about that, it could be used to light your garden rubbish fire, to insulate the walls, and for papier mache .

KatieScarlett2833 · 18/11/2008 12:17

Watch out Expat, you're becoming a Fifer.

expatinscotland · 18/11/2008 12:18

My FIL is one.

We never let him live it down.

You should hear him go on about Dundee.
