To think that parents should be open to their childrens shortcomings as well as good points?

I have met lots of parents who NEVER say anything even slightly negative about their child. No child is perfect. AIBU to think that parents need to recognise this when dealing with their children's school, so they can work together to sort out problems?

Oh, I do cringe at parents who think their little angels can do no wrong. Luckily, I have been blessed with a right little monkey, so am regularly alerted to his shortcomings. The other day he and another little boy got in trouble at nursery for breaking a toy. I was very 'ho hum' about it. these thimngs happen. Talked to DS about looking after toys, not breaking things etc. Got him to apologise to his classmates. Offered to pay for damage. The other little boy's mum looked like she was going to cry and said 'But 'x' is never destructive. He just wouldn't ever do something like this.'. Urrr...but he did. The teacher saw him. He's 3. Get over it you bloody numpty.
