I know, shoot me for doing it, too.

But I am blocking news topics as I am of a very anxious disposition and cant read threads like that.

Do we really need 2 of them in Chat????

(I am not posting on them as i wont open the links, WONT see it in threads I am on, etc....)

We have a NEWS TOPIC for a reason. snort.

I don't mind if people want 2343 threads about it I would just appreciate it if the thread titles weren't so awful. I saw one yesterday which was so full of details, it was horrible.

southeastastra · 12/11/2008 10:52

that was probably my mil lapin, she'll turn up the volume on the tv to hear every gory detail. yet doesn't seem interested in other news events.

lulumama · 12/11/2008 10:55

i complained about on the of the thread titles yesterday, it was graphic, inappropriate and i felt the misspelling and text speak was inappropriate for such a thread, one that was supposed to be a dignified RIP thread.

i have no issue with the discussion, but how many times do you need to read hang em/ castrate em/flog em/ all social workers are crap. and the thread titles should be more sensitive

MmeLindt · 12/11/2008 11:01

Do you know, if someone posted a thread with the title, "How can we prevent a tragedy like this happening again?" and went on to talk about improving the social services and how to get vulnerable children help then that would be a reasonable reaction to this news story.

The discussion, in neverending detail of the nitty gritty of the case, with the "they should rot in jail" helps noone, least of all other children at risk.

agree mmelindt. i think it is pretty much taken as read everyone is horrified , repulsed and saddened by this case and others like it
