AIBU to be p*ssed at my cousin

My cousin isn't having kids at her wedding, yes it's her wedding and her choice, but the way she worded it - "adults only as we do not want your children ruining our wedding"

WTF? This is so rude!! My dd is only 9 months. I do not know if other parents got this information. I just think the wording is so rude, I'm tempted not to go now

YANBU, that's really insulting! I'd say sorry we can't come, as our children are a combination of our dna, we may indadvertently display some of these characteristics and RUIN your day!

Mowgli1970 · 11/08/2010 08:22

Btw, it's not just your cousin. My dd was invited to a relative's wedding with us, my ds was not included in the invite!!! Shock

pumperspumpkin · 11/08/2010 08:24

So, so rude. (Though I agree the 'so parents can enjoy themselves...' thing is just as bad.) Better just to say no children and leave it at that.

Isawthreeships · 11/08/2010 08:33

Rude.

Would it be acceptable to say 'no old people', 'no wives', 'no blacks' etc?

Decline politely and don't send a present.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 11/08/2010 09:30

Erm - you do all realise that this thread dates back to 2008, don't you? I suspect the wedding is long since over and done - hopefully the bridezilla is now a mum and is realising how precious and rude she was!

pumperspumpkin · 11/08/2010 09:31

Ps meant to add - I assume this is a teetotal wedding? More weddings ruined by drunk people than 9 month olds I reckon!

compo · 11/08/2010 09:38

So occuludo dragged it up with something offensive that had to be deleted? Wierd

HecateQueenOfWitches · 11/08/2010 09:42

I really want to know how this ended! Grin

I had a child free wedding for several reasons - if we had invited children it would have doubled the cost. aslso I really didnt want babies crying throughout the reception and wedding ceremony.
I think it was badly worded unless it as meant as a joke?

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 11/08/2010 12:21

A very elderly joke, Maddy - this is a 2008 thread that someone has resurrected.

ValiumSingleton · 11/08/2010 12:28

Wow, rude, you have freedom to turn down her wedding and save yourself hundreds of pounds now.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 11/08/2010 12:55

Not now, Valium, back in 2008.
