I listened to the Brand show and heard the 'calls' and remember thinking at the time Ross and Brand were saling a bit close to the wind....
However, that's exactly why I thought it was funny. The bl**dy media have completely over-reacted and those who complained have probably nevr even heard the show, and in any case, those who complained are not the target audience for Ross or Brand so what is the point is everyone getting so het up about things?
True, there's more important things in the world going on. Totally agree, so why waste licence fee payers money on pointless meetings to even discuss this kind of thing? They'll now have to waste even more licence fee payers cash recruiting a new and as good as the outgoing BBC Radio 2 Controller and putting in place 'safety nets' to ensure the 'comedy' coming out the corporation is dim-witted and safe.
Do the BBC want to be a watered down state controlled waste of time broadcasting safe material which will never cause offence to anyone or do they want to produce and present cutting edge and 'of their time' shows with talented presenters?
There are other presenters such as Jeremy Vine who offends me on a daily basis with his dumbed down 'current affairs' magazine programme on BBC Radio 2 but I don't complain about him..although I might do so now!
