For the last two weeks kids on the estate have been setting them off till all hours in the morning GRRR!!

But last night walking down the road with My friends elderly MIL and some bastard kids thought it would be hilarious to set a firework off by lying it down and shooting it from one side of the road towards us. The fucking firework exploded inches from our faces now my ear bloody hurts and My Friends MIL jumped nearly out of her skin and had a panic attack.

I am sick of these shit fireworks when I was kid I was too scared to even think about setting one off I still dont being 25 grrrrr

So AIBU and if I am not will you all sign my Petion please

I really don't understand why they are for sale to the general public. Responsible adults who do a mini display in their gardens must be in the minority. Most are bought by teenagers and set off all over the place.

I am torn on this one. MY parents always did home displays on the Sat nearest bonfire night and they were fab events. I loved them And I like having home displays now, and therefore would be very sad if I couldn't buy them. BUT I appreciate that there is a problem. Someone near me does HUGE displays with professional size fireworks in his back garden, a few times a year or so it seems. While I apprecite that they are indeed great shows and a lot of folks enjoy them, I think it is unsafe for him to have such huge fireworks in his garden. Also the last lot he did woke my DD (she was 1 then) about 4 times, which wasn't much fun as you imagine! On the other hand I think there should be freedom for responsible people to have their own fireworks, yet equally everyone should have the freedom to walk without fear through their neighbourhoods. It's a tricky one.

YES, YES, YES - I hate November for this reason. One or two nights is fine, but it's become completely out of control !! It's definitely a safety issue, but the noise is a huge nuisance too - it's like world war III, night after a night.

YANBU

IMHO they should be on sale for public displays only ...'tis madness that every tom dick and harry can get their hands on them!

I hate them. They are dangerous and should only be on sale for public displays, set off in safe surroundings by responsible people.

I keep jumping every time I hear one go off and am sure the baby is going to wake up. It is going to be non stop banging until jan now.
