Now that I would like to know, because I love and so does my DS very mature cheddar and it always tastes very salty. My DS occasionally has cheese strings in his lunchbox, I thought it was just cheese?

CookieMonster2 · 28/10/2008 15:17

"No higher than in organic Somerset cheddar or artisan parmesan though. "

Yes, but they are middle class foods so that makes it acceptable.

Joking aside though, my reason for not buying cheese strings is that they cost about 4 times as much as a normal block of cheese that can be cut into strings.

Didn't know there was an issue with Fruit Shoots. Are they the drinks? Are they really any worse than normal squash?

MrsWeasleyIsTheCrazyHatLady · 28/10/2008 15:24

I love it and I look around and hide my MN bag whenever I stop off for lunch walk near one

ScottishMummy · 28/10/2008 15:29

didnt know there was a fruit shoot/greggs joke.i like greggs cheese onion pastie

is it a faux pas big no no to likey greggs

and never had a fruit shoot

poshbloodencrustedwellies · 28/10/2008 15:32

I think its about the fact they have additives Cookie, plus they hardly contain any actual fruit juice but then can be argued as most childrens 'fruit' drinks don't contain alot of proper fruit juice.

children's fruit juice drinks

poshbloodencrustedwellies · 28/10/2008 15:35

fruit content in drinks

Peachy · 28/10/2008 15:40

scottishmummy its specifically the greggs sausage rolls- even more specifically feeding then to small tots in buggies- and harks back to mn olden when that was see as what later became known as 'chavvy' and therefore non mn

ScottishMummy · 28/10/2008 15:44

LOL Non-MN behaviournae sausages for us.i missed the sausage roll debacle.was it often discussed?

AmIWhatAndWhy · 28/10/2008 16:09

Nothing wrong with cheese strings. Obviously overpackaged and gimmicky but a lot of thinks are.

matildax · 28/10/2008 16:23

well puzzlerocks, prepare to shoot me, yesterday both my dd2 and ds ate a greggs sausage roll each, and omg a fruit shoot each!!!!!!!!
( they were the h2o variety, although dont know if they are any better for them??? )

also peachy, my ds is a small tot and was in his pushchair!! [hangs head in shame emocion]
in my defence, they rarely have them. but once in a while i dont really see the harm. like i always say, everything (even evil mumsnet no no 'food') in moderation. plus if i am honest i quite like the taste of a hot greggs sausage roll.

PuzzleRocks · 28/10/2008 18:33

I will do no such thing Matildax. Unless you make a joke lacking in flair or originality.
