pmsl mrs mattie!
I love the frootshoots/greggs joke.
It's part of the fabric of mn, like the bat.

mamadiva · 28/10/2008 13:05

We dint live near a greggs I have to say but when Im down visiting in Glasgow I do buy something from there cheese and onion pastie for me and sausage roll for DS... Its not as though we eat them alot but once or twice a year although I do make sausage rolls and beans at home b ut DS is very very fussy and is one of the few foods he eats HV said is okay aslong as hes eating so doesnt matter and also on the subject of Fruitshoots I used to give my DS them after nursery 2 days a week on the way home but now I dont I occassionally buy one if we are caught out in town or something but I always buy the H20 ones so heyho

OrmIrian · 28/10/2008 13:11

Mrsmattie -

Fruit Shoots
Cheese Strings
Munch Bunch yoghurts
Sunny D
Turkey Twizzlers
Greggs Sausage Rolls

They are all horrible. Apart from Haribo which have to be good for you because they are so nice.

Peachy · 28/10/2008 13:14

Its nt a joke, its a code

HAribo doubly good as in the true MN spirit they are gluten free

Peachy · 28/10/2008 13:16

'Fruit Shoots
Cheese Strings
Munch Bunch yoghurts
Sunny D
Turkey Twizzlers
Greggs Sausage Rolls
Haribo'

I worked for sunny d once

my kids will never ever have that stuff

ginnny · 28/10/2008 13:19

MMAM - I can't believe you typed out all the ingredients
You are a true crusader!!

Gregg's sandwiches are cheap. I'd rather eat healthily on my own turf and not be ripped off in pret a voler.

My requirements from a sandwich are that I get change from £3.

Never had a fruitshoot though.

Liffey · 28/10/2008 13:43

HOpefully, now that there's a recession on, a store won't be mocked because its food is more reasonably priced than its more upmarket competitors.

MrsMattie · 28/10/2008 13:44

Nobody's mocking a freshly made cheese & pickle roll from Gregg's - only the pigs bollocks sausagemeat

Although I have no problem with the occasional bit of pig's parts - my DS loves 'em.

shootfromthehip · 28/10/2008 13:45

All this talk of food made me rush to the afore-mentioned sausage roll provider and buy a massive chicken and pesto baguette. The perfect combination of healthy and unhealthy.

WOULD NOT however put a turgid 'froot shoot' anywhere near the mouths of my children or myself.

shootfromthehip · 28/10/2008 13:47

Think the issue is the content and not the cost. This said what's wrong with eating pig bollocks? I eat pretty much the rest of it but do find the tail a wee bit chewy.

Liffey · 28/10/2008 13:50

I don't go into Greggs more than once a year. But i do like to know it's there.

I feel like a tuna and sweetcorn sandwich now.

poshbloodencrustedwellies · 28/10/2008 14:01

Agree with Peachy-Sunny D is the 'juice' of the devil.

DANCESwithLordPsGhost · 28/10/2008 14:08

I had a Gregg's gingerbread man a few weeks ago. It was absolutely blardy delicious.

Lotster · 28/10/2008 14:17

Fruit Shoots
Cheese Strings
Munch Bunch yoghurts
Sunny D
Turkey Twizzlers
Greggs Sausage Rolls
Haribo

All the above are vile shite I would never poison my child with. It's true.

As an adult who can be informed and make up their own mind however, sometimes you just want something dirty and wrong in your mouth because you do.

My weakness is the bollocky/hoofy old Big Mac.

noonki · 28/10/2008 14:25

I tried a fruit shoot for the first time yesterday, they truely taste of a chemistry lab, with saccarin on top yuuummmmmy

are cheese strings bad?, I thought they were just made of milk.

mighoula · 28/10/2008 14:29

This is a genuine question - what IS a fruit shoot?! I've been looking out for them after hearing about them on mnet but still haven't spotted them - I'm guessing they're some kind of yoghurt in a long plastic thing that you shoot into your mouth??!
I LOVE greggs cheese & onion pasties though...

poshbloodencrustedwellies · 28/10/2008 14:29

The salt content in cheese strings is super high noonki

mabanana · 28/10/2008 14:32

No higher than in organic Somerset cheddar or artisan parmesan though.

DippyDora · 28/10/2008 14:38

Is the salt in cheese strings higher than in normal chedder?
