To expect some rest when I am ill?

This is not an attack on my partner (who is working today) or small child (who is pretty much always high as a kite) but it's one of the hardest things about being a parent. I feel deathly and just want to sleep. But can't. And don't want to be ill for whole half term!

I am thinking of contacting Angelina Jolie and asking if she'd adopt two caucasian girls aged 3 and 1

But I think they'd be the straw that finally broke her and Brad's back - the other six, pah, no problem! A week with mine and she'd be craving a sixpm bedtime and fighting off a nasty ear infection

parenting while ill is why i have one child only tbh.

Ah, thanks everyone for the kind messages

I went to bed at about nine last night, but still feel lousy today . Inneed, I think you're totally right about us women just working harder, when dh is "ill" or has a hangover he does the man thing of just going straight to bed, groaning and moaning, ignoring whatever else is going on and leaving me to pick up the pieces. I would never dream of doing that. I really hope you feel better soon.

Have been LOL and ROFL at this thread. But the worst thing is that I could actually have got admitted to hospital earlier this year with pneumonia but I stupidly told the doc there was no way I could go into hospital as I had 2 DC's to look after (and DH would never be able to manage on his own in a million years). So she gave me some very strong anti-biotics instead and fortunately, or unfortunately as I'm now realising, they did the trick.

Will definately have to remember next time I get a chest infection to kindly accept my doc's offer of admission to hospital.

I am really kicking myself now, how could I have been so stupid?
