This is what i felt like saying to the woman who told my DD to SHUT UP in the tesco post office just now. My DD was shouting at our dog who was outside the shop. She was saying hello hello hello hello - yeah it was loud but she was upset over something anyway (just had wee wee accident) so i didnt want to tell her off. The woman turned round and told my DD to shut up - she thought i didn't see. To my shame i gave her the finger (original!) and she turned to the counter staff and obviously proceeded to berate me for being common as muck. I guess she must have been right because the thread title was what i really wanted to say.

Grrrrrrr

Lol at the thread title!

Probably wasn't the classyest thing to do but you are obviously having a bad day and wanted to stick up for your DD. I wouldn't be to worried, i have been known to say some vile things to people when my children are involved....

This may make you feel better..

DS1 was ill, it was Xmas eve and he had ful and a very high temp. I went to our local shop to get some Calpol and some spotty oike behind the counter who mush have been at least 5yrs younger than me asked me for i.d to buy it!
I had forgotten my drivers liscence and very politley explained that i was in my 20's and my son was really poorly and needed this to bring his temp down to which he rather smugly said 'well sorry luv its not my fauly, you'll ave to take him up to the hospital, but that aint my problem' then laughed.

I went ape sh*t and called him a few rather unpleasent names, i was quite embarrassed but i was streesed and worried about ds.

Don't feel to bad, just let it pass and carry on.

You should have told DD very quietly that the very rude lady wants her to be quiet and waited for DD to reply "WHAT VERY RUDE LADY?" as she almost invariably would have done. Honour satisfied. But I'd have probably raised my Boden-clad arm and given her the finger too.

I thought the woman was another customer? Am I wrong?

I find it funny too Expat, though would have thought it a bit if an own goal had I seen it.

Although I did stop a fight with some kids recently and found myself speaking in tongues
