To be a bit miffed that just when I decide to start actually posting a bit on Mumsnet instead of just lurking, it suddenly seems much quieter than it used to be.

Is it me, or is it quieter than usual?

Don't take it personally. It was manic earlier, my convo kept falling off the bottom every couple of minutes. Everyone's probably exhausted

thingamajig · 08/09/2008 22:41

I think its quieter than usual, the same conversations have been in active convos for three nights, its normally much quicker.

brimfull · 08/09/2008 22:41

I have just come on tonight-so yes it must be quiet

cornsilk · 08/09/2008 22:43

It is very quiet at the moment.

cornsilk · 08/09/2008 22:43

Everyone's busy sewing on nametags.

FrockHorror · 08/09/2008 22:44

cornsilk · 08/09/2008 22:50

All the teachers are being good and marking books. In a few weeks they'll be back on here all night swigging gin.

Overmydeadbody · 08/09/2008 22:53

Actually, isn't there tennis on or somthing?

snice · 08/09/2008 22:54

Sewing?
Iron-on nametags?

At Snice Towers we use the time honoured method of writing the child's name with a biro on the back of the washing instruction label. I am either very common or very lazy.

differentID · 08/09/2008 22:54

good point, going to check it. bbs

cornsilk · 08/09/2008 22:54

or even both?

Overmydeadbody · 08/09/2008 22:57

We have woven name tapes here dontchaknow

IDoEverything · 08/09/2008 22:59

Woah.... Full blown fisticuff on my thread??!

Didn't even think it was a particularly outrageous subject either.

pull yerself together, woman.

FrockHorror · 08/09/2008 23:00

lol @ biro name tags

snice · 08/09/2008 23:01

I have woven name tags too bought in a rush of PFB madness before the start of reception. I gave up on them half way through Yr1 when I realised no-one (i.e. other mummies) will ever know.

differentID · 08/09/2008 23:01

just trying to liven it up for you!

cornsilk · 08/09/2008 23:07

I embroider(sp) my chn's names onto their clothes. Name tags are for slatterns.

FabioBadAssCat · 08/09/2008 23:08

snice's children will think their full name is dc surname made in taiwan © Johnny Boden and his simpering crew

You can superglue nametapes on.
The glue goes a bit hard in the wash, so don't do somewhere rubby.
But tis glue all the way for blazer and coats and that.

IDoEverything · 08/09/2008 23:08

I too am miffed that after 2 years, no-one has ever known about my PINK WITH PICTURE OF A LITTLE FAIRY woven name tags.
