Im watchng the VMA's and they just had some rapper/singer (omg how old am i?)
who had his jeans literally around his knee's.

i see this "fashion trend" all ovwer the place and each and every time i see it i just want to go up up and give them a wedgy!

it really annoys me.
i have even been known to walk behind them and say "puul your pants up i can see your skid marks"
(much to my mothers horror)

Well if it's my 3-year-old DS you're looking at, it's not a fashion statement it's due to him being so skinny that his pants just won't stay up...

lol! I saw a man yesterday and I had to try really hard to resist the urge to pull them down.

argh, it drives me up the wall as well - especially when they are so skinny (teens, not weans) that the only thing holding their troos up seems to be their genitalia!

And as for the boxer shorts puffing out over the back, what the hell is that all about??

Although saying that, my DP's 'slob around at home' jeans always fall down! Whenever he wears them, I end up saying 'you're going for the 50cent look then?' He was the first 'celeb' that I noticed sporting this trend and after that everyone seemed to be doing it.

You know, I walked through the city centre on Friday and saw no less than 6 men cupping their balls with their hands. WHY? Do they think it's attractive. Is there an outbreak of crabs in Derby? This has to be worse than poorly fitting jeans???

Its a gang thing. when the police grab you by the legs as you hoik yourself over the fence, he slides quickly out of his trews. The boxer shorts thing is about showing the label of your designer drawers as a fashion statement but I guess evolved from if you wind up with your trews in the arms of the police then you can run home in boxers instead of dinky underwear or none at all.

YANBU!!! My BIL is the worst for this. Whenever we get to MIL house he is always the one kind enough to come and open the front door and help with my bags...thing is I then have to walk up about 15 stairs behind him and have no bloody idea which way to look!

It's actually a wanna be gang thing. It can be traced back to prisoners (at least in the american penal system). Yes, it is for escape as well as carrying weapons.

What, so all rappers and fans of hip hop who wear baggy, saggy pants are wannabe gangsters? That's just ridiculous! Boys were wearing these jeans when I was at school in the late 80s / early 90s. It's definitely a part of hip hop culture.

I do think it looks silly, but I also think making sweeping generalisations about people based on the style of trouser they wear is silly!
