to slap a lifetime ban on ordering from Kleeneze in my household?

They've really annoyed me.

The distributor put a catalogue through my letterbox on Thursday and left instructions to collect it the next day.

I didn't leave it out as I stayed at my parents house that night.

When I got home the next day, they had stuck a reminder in the door frame.

What is wrong with using a bit of common sense? They have made it apparent that no-one is home and leaves my house more vunerable to burglary.

If you don't want catalogues, either put a sign on your door or return a catalogue with a note saying you are not interested and don't want any more catalogues.
I'm an Avon rep and I have been a Kleeneze rep: I always look at letterboxes to see if they have a No Catalogues or even No Leaflets/Papers/Junkmail sign and avoid: I also stop leaving catalogues at houses that haven't ordered after a couple of attempts.

The worst offender will be Kleeneze as both Avon and Bettaware reps have assigned territories so you will only get one rep, who should obey requests for no more brochures: the trouble with Kleeneze (and the reason I stopped doing it) is that they don't care who works where so you can get a dozen different reps working the same street: you ask one to leave you alone and the next one along doesn't know that you are not interested, etc.

Oh and those of you who are all'How very dare anyone put something through my door' please bear in mind that some people like the catalogues and buy stuff from us, and we are not mindreaders so put a farking sign on your letterbox!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/09/2008 15:18

I thought you were talking about tissues and wondered whether they leaked snot or something when you blew your nose. Was struggling to understand how come tissues could be so offensive.

Bringbackmybonnietome · 02/09/2008 15:20

I won't put a blinking sign on my door!

I get loads of catalogues unsolicited, they can't read my mind but hope I may buy something.

Fair enough.

It's the request to keep the catelogues and then return it that I find inconevenient.

I should not need to stick signs on my door telling people this, it's my door my letter box, your choice to post something through it, but once you've done so it's my choice what to do with the catelogue.

Lilymaid · 02/09/2008 15:21

I have a sign on the door (supplied by the police and county council) saying:
We're not buying it
We do not sell or buy at the door
This does not stop all the Betterware/Kleeneezee/Avon sales people and other door to door salesmen. If they call when I am in I point out the sign to them. Some still try it on ...

poorbuthappy · 02/09/2008 15:23

Yes but we are not mindreaders either and obviously don't realise that when you say you are going to collect it on Wednesday afternoon you actually mean 4 weeks thursday and then get snotty when it hasn't survived the daily deluge and ends up in the bin!

silvercrown · 02/09/2008 15:29

One of my Kleeneze chaps told me he ignores all signs on doors!!!!

solidgoldbrass · 02/09/2008 15:38

Yes, legally of course you are not obliged to return the catalogues and if someone doesn't put the catalogue out for me I simply don't give them another one (though I do check back the next day) unless it's a regular customer. And I never ring doorbells to ask for catalogues back, as I am not keen on being told exactly where to stuff any future editions. But I appreciate that some of the reps probably believe all the crap in the 'training manual' and do themselves no favours.

Ihate Kleeneze and Betterware.
Kleeneze I hate for the very personal reason that shortly before my 21st birthday, my mum said to me that she didn't have money to anything for my 21st as she had used the money she'd saved up for it to buy into Kleeneze!
THey take adavantage of people desperately trying to ind some extra cash - it costs so much to buy into it that it takes ages to break even. My mother never did recoup the money she spent buying into the sodding thing anyway. It's as bad as pyramid schemes.
DP throws the catalogues away - he hates clutter and junk mail - we don't want the catalogue, and we have no obligation to keep it cluttering the house so the distributer can collect it. Doesn't help that our one is rude and let a nasty note the first ever time he wanted a catalogue back.

Oops - long post!

solidgoldbrass · 02/09/2008 17:37

I must admit I agree about Kleeneze being a shocking rip off, it is sooo expensive to join and the least effective to work in of the lot IMO. Don't know about Bettaware but Avon only costs about a tenner to register and the brochures are very cheap as well.

AnnVan · 02/09/2008 17:58

See I mightnot like Kleeneze - but I really like Avon - they do some GOOD stuff! Now why don't I get Avon catalogues through my door? Probably a good thing though, I'd end up spending too much on it!

solidgoldbrass · 02/09/2008 21:47

Well if you would like an Avon catalogue, you can go onto the Avon website and ask to be contacted by a rep in your area - where are you?
Or you could be a rep yourself extra pocket money and cheaper slap.

ethanchristopher · 05/09/2008 11:23

who is all for the, "fuck this lets just throw it away every week cause then they will leanr and stop calling"?

i am!

ChippyMinton · 05/09/2008 11:26

DH posts the catalogues back to the reps without a stamp.

I had no idea Kleeneze still existed. My late MiL bought something from Kleeneze every time because she liked the rep.

Nanasueathome · 15/03/2016 06:31

Is Pipeman a Kleeneze distributor?
