he is 11 months old.
the child eats everything you give him, and everythign he sees you eating. i wish she would drae the line at things like jaffa cakes. chocolate i can deal with. but not those orange jelly things in the jaffa cakes.

dd1 has a slight major obbession with them. they are her pre dancing snack after her banana. i cant give dd1 without dd2 so they both eat them. and upto now they are both still living

YABU its not going to kill him. tis just a cake not arsenic. if you had said they gave him a whole packet at once or that was his dinner and nothing else then you have a point.

let them eat (jaffa) cake.........

SheSellsSeaShellsByTheSeashore - but how old are they?

I would imagine that once my DD turns 1 or so her diet will change drastically (to being about what SHE wants to eat) Whilst they are little, why not try to just get the good stuff down them?

She does love anything at the moment. She has only vegetables, fruit and chicken and I honestly think thats normal for a 7 month old?!

M/net makes me doubt myself so much that I always have to ask RL friends and they are with me on this one. They just dont need to eat anything bad yet? Its not as though they are asking for it?

If they have a good diet everyday people don't need to get so upset about the odd biscuit!

IMO the only thing wrong with jaffa case is the bloody mess DS gets in when he has one! YABU

dd1 is 4 nearly five and dd2 is 15 months. i would rather dd2 not be eating sweets and cakes etc at this age but she pretty much eats what dd1 does otherwise she flips. she even had a tantrum yesterday because dd1 had her ice cream in a cone and hers was in a tub. she wanted a cone.

dd2 eats a lot more than chicken and veg etc but at 7 months her diet was pretty much the same as your dds is now. but she would have starchy stuff too i.e. bread, pasta rice etc and cereal, porridge etc. desserts were yoghurts and fruit or rice puddings.

Yep for me I think its just based on how young my DD is. She doesnt have any siblings and isn't really around anyone else eating stuff - otherwise I am sure it would be a diffferent story!!

In fact, I eat my chocolate only when she is forward facing in her buggy so that she wont demand it!

I think that I should make the most of her almost not "knowing" about all the other stuff out there.

I don't know, you never really know if you are doing the best thing but for now I dont feel the need to give her stuff, jaffa cakes or whatever.

Know OP's child is 11 months but that doesnt feel that far away for me, maybe a lot changes between 7 & 11 months?
