he is 11 months old.
the child eats everything you give him, and everythign he sees you eating. i wish she would drae the line at things like jaffa cakes. chocolate i can deal with. but not those orange jelly things in the jaffa cakes.

me too batters.

I bite all the chocolate off, then eat the cakey bit, then the marmalade (deprived child)

lol, sorry batters.
thank you for that ingredients lst. did you really type it all out? now i feel bad about making you do all that.
i didnt know it was curcumin. for some reason i thought it was tartrazine.
his mom, my baby sister , is very very chilled. and she also knows that i am quite happy to make a spectacle of myself. which is probly why she is even more chilled.

jaffa cakes do not contain tartrazine. dd1 eats them with no issue. she cannot have tartrazine though.

tidgy, i do have lots of worse stuff toworry about, but its simpler to worry about the little stuff. makes life more bearable.

I'm quite chilled too and would be fine with my Mum giving my baby a jaffa cake.
I'd be a bit if my sister kicked off about it on my behalf though!

AMumInScotland · 28/08/2008 12:42

I had to resist the urge to go out to the shops and buy a pack.... Yummy things!

fizzbuzz · 28/08/2008 12:42

Mmmmmm I love Jaffa cakes, and we have some in the cupboard....

I give these to dd as I thought they were slightly less full of crap than other biccies (or are they cakes under EEC )

almostblue · 28/08/2008 12:45

stitch - are you being sponsored by McVities?

stitch · 28/08/2008 12:47

lol, what an idea?
do you think i could call them up and demand something for theunwitting advertising i have afforded them?

VinegarTits · 28/08/2008 12:58

yabu and so is she if she didn't give him a fruit shoot to wash it down..

Followed by a sausage roll

almostblue · 28/08/2008 13:17

You could get a lifetime's supply of the things, stitch.

Hmmmmm.

Sunflower100 · 28/08/2008 13:18

My dd is allergic to eggs - I long for grandparents, friends, me.... anyone to be able to give her a jaffa cake!! Sniff! Until then I just have to chow down our family's quota singlehanded!

pamelat · 28/08/2008 13:22

I still think that anyone should check with a parent before they give a child anything to eat, never mind something artificial/'bad'.

Yep its only a jaffa cake and not the end of the world but you can be miffed about it.
(ah, just seen that you are the aunty, sorry) I think the mum or dad would have a right to be a tiny bit annoyed, not an aunty.

Pinkjenny · 28/08/2008 13:24

My grandad gave dd a Twix last week.

She bloody loved it.

stitch · 28/08/2008 13:25

pam, at the time the mom was probly too busy argueing explaining the finer points of fair jaffa cake distribution, to my kids, her nephews, to notice what mom was doing,
