They are 2 and 5, still up. I have walked up those stairs so many times, I am physically exhausted. Honest it must have been at least 100 times. I have cried. I have shouted. I have had enough. Ds2 is too young to threaten(not that I haven't tried), it's not fair to let him stay up and not Ds1.

What would you do?

Because right now, they are pottering around in the front room, chatting away and playing with toys. And I just want to go to bed. But If I put them to bed, and they won't stay there, I will just be even angrier than I am now.

Well, to my (only slight) shame, I have absolved myself of all responsibility, and Ex puts them to bed. he's happy, they're happy (and asleep by half past eight) and I am happy.

We let DS1 (4) fall asleep where he drops, so long as it's upstairs! We have found him on the floor in his room, on the floor in our room, on the landing, in our bed!

We just tuck him in his own bed once he's fallen asleep.

We also let him play with his toys, read his books, in his room. He's able to reach the light switch now so he amuses himself, it does make our lives aa lot easier.

WOW I've just read through this and OMG am terrified. My 2.2YO is going into his cot bed this weekend rather than his cot and am dreading it!!!

Think I will have a clear out of toys so that the box will close and lock the box in his cupboard at night. I plan to read to him a book every night at about 7.30 but we will just have to see how it goes!

FWIW I think YANBU because if my DS does the same he'll be falling asleep wherever he wants LOL.
