Interestingly (ok, only for me) TOSH is listed in the OED as an informal greeting, usually to an unkown person. So I guess after all that beautiful frittery, the OP was right.

I must say that this site is rather more verbal than others. I do also feel that for someone who may not be as confident and self assured as others then it could be intimidating and feel that if you don't fit into a certain box then ship out. But I don't care as I can hold my own lol.
