...to find the borderline eco-facist approach of Cbeebies more than slightly irritating...???!

Honestly, if it's not Spring/Autumnwatch (which I find quite acceptable on their own) it's now The fecking vomit inducing Green Balloon Club, Nina and the nauseating Neurons GO ECO, Gordon the Garden gnome, Our Planet and painful lovely little ditties about recycling and all pulling together for our planet.

Sentiments I buy into generally - I recycle, I walk if I don't need to drive, and I buy shopping as ethically and morally as I possibly can in an inner city area, but I do object to the near brainwashing that seems to be afoot on children's TV at the mo.

AARGH! Ok, rant over. Just wondered what anyone else thought...

Do you all use the CBeebies website ? It's fantastic. All of the songs, stories, and all of the make and do stuff. It's the childrens PC homepage. Not sure if you get to make the Scrumptious Little Cook Butt Plug though.

However...there is an iffy Tweenies story on there. Bella goes under the sea because she's lost her precious ring, and has to find the way avoiding the purple headed octopus, and there are starfish all over the place.

No subversive kids cartoons indeed

Lol. Mine used to go "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooo Get you!" but I had to trade it in for a more respectful one. Chris did a stand in job on an ITV activity program, and grew a little bit of bum fluff round his chin to look more rugged. Think he thought he was Indiana Jones.

I went to see Hi-5 a couple of years ago, and had seats near the front. One of the girls was carrying one of the boys buns in her oven. I came over all Blue Peter/Janet Ellis.

I wasn't kidding about the [[http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/tweenies/storytime/stories/tweeniestales/ Tweenies] story, but it was her pearl necklace she lost and had to get back from one of the male characters.
