PaulineMole1 · 19/07/2008 18:32

Yes very rude is he always like this with you?

Have you said Hi to him BTW?

BetteNoire · 19/07/2008 18:33

what does your mother say about his behaviour?

JulietBravo · 19/07/2008 18:33

Amazingly rude.

Beetroot · 19/07/2008 18:33

I woulod have made a beeline and said hello step dad - how are you today, what have you been up to. s lovely to see you

cocolepew · 19/07/2008 18:35

I do this to MIL. It is rude.

cocolepew · 19/07/2008 18:35

I do this to MIL. It is rude.

nametaken · 19/07/2008 21:32

I do what Beetroot does too.

Why do you go there. Get your mum to come to you.

noonki · 19/07/2008 21:37

how long has he been your stepdad and is this benhaviour new?

tigermoth · 19/07/2008 21:43

Is he vague with everyone or do you feel he would acknowledge any other guest?

WillyWonka · 19/07/2008 21:47

I'd be tempted to sit in a chair nearby and give yourself a mini pedicure or similar. As and when he eventually objects (and he will by the time you start clipping your nails) simply say "oh I'm sorry, I didn't notice you there..."

ChukkyPig · 19/07/2008 21:58

Oh god what a tosser mt ex's dad was like that. He just sat in front of the telly and ignored everything going on around him.

How is your mum with you? If it's fine with her I wouldn't worry about him. She is probably as embarassed as you are pissed off.

ChukkyPig · 19/07/2008 22:01

And Nanny I hope you are over your car crash, it can really shake you up for a while, or even longer, when something like that happens. I hope you have recovered from your injuries.

ninedragons · 19/07/2008 22:02

I hate this. I used to have a friend whose partner would walk into the house, walk straight past us sitting on the sofa without acknowledging we were there and shut himself in their bedroom. Very, very rude indeed.

nannyL · 20/07/2008 00:49

yes well it got worse....

(no we dont get on, never had, but he has blanked me for 9 months so I refused to say the 1st hello)

end of long story.... he strangled me... yes i mean he put is hands round his neck and was strangling me until my mother walked in...
Yes we were in the middle of a heated discussion about his behaviour, and 'he told my mum to F off, he was leaving', so i told him to 'go F some elses mother' so he attacked me

Yes i know i MUST go to the police

thank you chikky pig.... my 'car crash headaches' had finaly stopped 2 weeks ago... until now...

last cranial osteopathy session she got my neck all back into place... so it will need to be 're-done'

I think the bit pre-arguemet was the fact that even to this moment he hasnt even asked how i am since that car crash! (according to him thats perfectly reasonable too )

BetteNoire · 20/07/2008 01:01

nannyL, that's awful.
Did you call the police?

yes he strangled me.... obviosuly not completely as i am still alive!

will speak to police tomorrow after i have told my dad.... its all so awkward as next weekend is my mums 50th birthday party.... been planned for 15 months, with 130 friends / relations and i really dont wanna ruin it for her, or create an 'atmosphere'.... but he sould have thought about that before he put his hadns round my neck.... right?

omg ......hes a twat, are u ok???

BetteNoire · 20/07/2008 01:28

ring the police now, nannyL.

MrsMacaroon · 20/07/2008 01:36

what's your mum saying to all this?

Ready4anotherCoffee · 20/07/2008 01:47

That is not acceptable. Ring the police. If he thinks it acceptable to do it to you then there is a chance this behaviour would be repeated with your mum
