is it rude to completely blank and not even acknowledge a guest in your house?

Opinions ASAP please.... been at my mums / step dads 2.5 hours and he hasnt even said hi.

also not even asked how i was since i nearly died in car crash 10 weeks ago

Is he vague with everyone or do you feel he would acknowledge any other guest?

I'd be tempted to sit in a chair nearby and give yourself a mini pedicure or similar. As and when he eventually objects (and he will by the time you start clipping your nails) simply say "oh I'm sorry, I didn't notice you there..."

Oh god what a tosser mt ex's dad was like that. He just sat in front of the telly and ignored everything going on around him.

How is your mum with you? If it's fine with her I wouldn't worry about him. She is probably as embarassed as you are pissed off.

And Nanny I hope you are over your car crash, it can really shake you up for a while, or even longer, when something like that happens. I hope you have recovered from your injuries.

I hate this. I used to have a friend whose partner would walk into the house, walk straight past us sitting on the sofa without acknowledging we were there and shut himself in their bedroom. Very, very rude indeed.

Yes we were in the middle of a heated discussion about his behaviour, and 'he told my mum to F off, he was leaving', so i told him to 'go F some elses mother' so he attacked me

last cranial osteopathy session she got my neck all back into place... so it will need to be 're-done'

I think the bit pre-arguemet was the fact that even to this moment he hasnt even asked how i am since that car crash! (according to him thats perfectly reasonable too )

will speak to police tomorrow after i have told my dad.... its all so awkward as next weekend is my mums 50th birthday party.... been planned for 15 months, with 130 friends / relations and i really dont wanna ruin it for her, or create an 'atmosphere'.... but he sould have thought about that before he put his hadns round my neck.... right?

That is not acceptable. Ring the police. If he thinks it acceptable to do it to you then there is a chance this behaviour would be repeated with your mum
