I just want to go out

I am almost 4 months pregnant with DC3, my othe two children are 2 & 3 and I just really want a night out.

Nothing wild, lol, just cinema and dinner with DH.

I can't ask MIL as we aren't on speaking terms (she does see the LO's and takes them out but babysitiing involves her minding them here and shes banned from the house,lol)

I don't want to ask my mum as she is run off her feet constantly and has sooo much on her plate, I know she would if I asked but I don't want to.

Remember the good old days when if you decided at 5:30pm you wanted a night out you would just get dressed and go??

We had a 'professional' babysitter a few times when we were younger. Sweet as pie when my parents were there but was awful as soon as they stepped out of the door!

ah yes remember thoise days. ie when leaving house 5 secs after you decided to go out, leaping sylph like into car with only a mere scrap of a bag containing lipgloss. then starting the engine 10 secs after reaching car...........

My babysitter from Sitters is an older lady and a devout christian, she's fantastic and the children always already in bed. The first few times wecame home early or popped back for something!!

I'll ask my sister, she is at college, just bung her a fiver and she will be happy!

I would also recommend Sitters. We've had a variety of sitters with them and (I think) they're all NNEB qualified or currently working as nannies/childminders/teachers. Have never EVER had a bad experience and you need to go out!

My mum was part of a babysitting circle - everyone got a handful of bits of playing card as 'chips' to start with, then there was a set rate (1 think 1 chip per hour, 2 chips per hour on a Sat night). I think it worked well - there were about 8 parents (well TBH mums, it was the 70s, in it).

Have thought of starting one here but I'm lucky in that I have obliging twin teenagers next door who owe me one as I help them with their maths!

Please have a night out. Your DCs will love spending time with their aunty.

( i dont like going out at weekend, its too busy, shes not at college now its holidays so i said ...'

'oh, right i was thinking more during the week actully, if its a problem i could ask MIL instead' (she knows im not speaking to MIL'

My sis is a bit preoccupied with being a teenager I think! It actully took alot to ask her as I never ask anyone so feel a bit deflated now!
