To wish people would stop using AI to generate total rubbish?

I will start by saying that I think AI does have a role to play. It can be used in scientific research and other useful applications.

However, the issue I have is people using it to create text and images that are being used in everyday life, and people think they are being clever using it. They are not.

I am seeing it everywhere online. I am not on Facebook, but I sometimes use Nextdoor. Lots of advertisements for things using AI generated images. “Stories” which are just AI crap. I see it on Vinted. I now also see it on Mumsnet. It feels like it is taking over.

please stop it. I can immediately spot it. It looks fake and immediately puts me off buying, reading, etc.

Hate it. Wish we could just switch it off.
Environmental nightmare

These AI flyers don’t differentiate between different eateries. As use the same font, same layout, looks cluttered.

Plus the food images are disgusting especially if meat or fish dishes.

the pace of change at work with AI is unsettling but there’s no doubt in this interim stage it is making my workload much more manageable (of course we’ll all just be expected to do more soon). But those damned AI posters that appear on fb and everywhere, they’re awful!!

AI is crap in the jobs market. As it doesn’t identify transferable skills. I applied for jobs last year and done all the skills, experience etc as in the job description and specification. But as I did these in a couple of jobs, AI rejected my application/CV

If this was read by human eyes, some potential employers may have put me in for interview.

I would like to know if AI has made any difference in the percentage of staff leaving in the first year from realising that the job isn’t for them or not. If it has increased the turnover from this, organisations need to drop AI to sift out CVs and applications

😆😆😆

I don't mind AI-generated ads etc. Better than those creepy PPT stick men with big question marks over their heads.

I would rather someone use AI and actually make sense.

So much poor spelling & grammar about it's hard to understand.

Also with the multicultural & diverse worldwide community it does away with the need to be fluent in a language.

StolenTeapots · 25/10/2026 17:56

Even bloody ai thread titles on here

A September 2025 US working paper actually reported a 2.8% reduction in new-hire turnover following adoption of AI recruitment. (SSRN 2025)

Yanbu. I am in various Facebook groups for my rare medical condition and they are overrun at the minute with shitty AI "infographics" about the condition that people feel the need to share.

That is the US, not the UK, which is completely different

In what way?

What in that study would not be relevant in the UK?

Different work cultures etc. A family member before they retired this year worked 15 months in the US from July ‘23 to Oct ‘24 for the same company as he did in the UK for 25 years prior and the last 18 months of working. Said the culture is different. US offices wanted their staff to WFH once a month. UK offices - only need to be in the office around once a fortnight.

Plus the US offices are in cubicles.

✨ Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Artificial Intelligence! ✨

You raise some incredibly important, thought-provoking and deeply valid concerns about the rapidly evolving digital landscape! 🌍🤖

First and foremost, it's important to acknowledge that AI is a tool, not a replacement for authentic human creativity.

That said, let's unpack a few key points! 🚀

✅ Authenticity matters! In a world increasingly saturated with digital content, genuine human expression is more valuable than ever.

✅ AI isn't inherently bad! From groundbreaking scientific discoveries to helping people craft thoughtful responses on online forums, its potential is truly limitless!

✅ Transparency is key! Nobody wants to feel misled by artificially generated content.

💡 Here's the exciting part!

Perhaps the real question isn't whether AI should be used in everyday life, but rather how we can harness its incredible potential while preserving the authenticity that makes us human.

🌟 The bottom line?

Your concerns are valid. Your perspective matters. And together, we can create a future where humans and artificial intelligence coexist in harmony!

Because at the end of the day, it's not about humans versus machines. It's about building a better tomorrow. 🌈✨

I hope this response has provided a balanced, nuanced and meaningful contribution to this important conversation! 💙

Okay so an evidenced study showing a significant decrease in turnover (and many other benefits) of using AI tools in recruitment.

The study was about the effect on AI tools. Working conditions would also affect turnover but the study did account for that.

But yeah your friend says that someone says that the cultures different so the evidence is not valid (but has zero evidence to support that)

Thank God for AI is all I can say!
