Want some ideas apart from mum and baby groups

I need some ideas of things to do with my three month old now the weather has turned. I reached out in facebook in a local mums group asking for ideas because I am going spare at home. I specifically said I don’t want mum and baby groups, as we already do lots. I was wanting ideas of days out, things like aquariums (but we don’t have any locally), baby cinema that kind of thing. But all I got was local mum and baby groups spamming my post with adverts.

Whilst these groups are great, they only tend to last for a hour or two and they aren’t filling the days. What can I do to get out of the house? And am I being unreasonable for being irritated that as a mum I reached out for help on a mums group and all I got back was adverts

Babies go outdoors in almost all weather, obviously over 30C or under 30C not ideal, but snow/rain /wind is fine, there's clothes for that.
At that age, baby doesn't really care what you're doing, so do what you want to do and bring baby along.

God, 3 months old is heaven, they don’t give a shit about aquariums - now is the precious time to do what YOU want! Galleries, shops, Pilates, singing lessons, hiking, cinema during nap time, anything at all! I did all those with young babies.

No YANBU re asking something specific and people giving you exactly what you said you didn’t want! But that’s social media for you. No one pays attention.

Honestly with a 3 month old, unless you really enjoy the mother and baby groups (which it sounds like you don't), don't waste your time on them at this age. You'll need them in a few months when your baby is active.

For now you can pretty much do anything YOU want - museums, hikes, cinema, whatever. A 3 month old isnt that bothered what you're doing although they may prefer to be on the move. Hope you find something to fill your time.

Exactly. When DS was that age we lived in London and in bad weather I spent all the time in museums and art galleries. A lot will depend on where you live, obviously.

It’s the weather permitting that I find tough!!

So take the train to the city do whatever you want or would normally do

i live in london and used to go all over the place for exhibitions and museums - also couldn’t stand being home - I saw all the films at the baby showings

I took the train out of town loads, went to Margate one day just to potter around and drink
coffee and walk on the beach! Babies are easy that age to take anywhere

my friend lives in Brighton so I did day trips
to her.

i woke up one morning and felt like going to Dublin to see my family so I booked the ferry for the next day and took the train to Holyhead and went home
for a few days

Have you got a local
Blaze Trails? They organise free baby-friendly carrier hikes with other outdoorsy mums. What is nice is being outside but not worrying about logistics, you can stop to feed, change etc, everyone has spare kit, is very understanding and the route is checked out beforehand to make sure its carrier friendly.
