Genuinely shocked by this headline on MSN.com today (UK site).

The title is

"Muslim convert explains why UK is 'best' as she boasts 'everything is free'"

No one seems to blink an eye at this blatant Islamophobia anymore.

Substitute Muslim for any other minority and people would be shocked for example:

• "Jewish convert explains why UK is 'best' as she boasts 'everything is free'"
• "Black person explains why UK is 'best' as she boasts 'everything is free'"
• "Christian convert explains why UK is 'best' as she boasts 'everything is free'"

Looks like it's from the Express, so unsurprising!

Do other minorites make such claims?

If it's an accurate and honest quote, then some will find that a legitimate reason for concern.

Personally, I think the error is relying on either the Express or MSN for accurate unbiased news.

Why is a Muslim woman being targeted in this way is the question.

Other minorities aren't targeted like this by the media.

Click bait/ rage bait is big business. The headline is so obviously provocative it’s almost laughable, then you remember how many people will take it at face value and it’s scary.
Though I disagree it’s only Muslims who face this type of prejudice, it’s unfortunately widespread across many different groups of people.

Well she's not wrong, Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities are the biggest net "takers" of benefits (net of taxes paid) in the UK.

I clicked on the link and started to read but it's long.
Whitechapel IS Muslim area.
There IS big Bangladesh Community.
Lots of Somali as well.
Lots of people having very poor command of English.

And I am pretty sure this is completely made up by the Daily Express too.

There is nothing nonsensical about the grooming gangs of men of pakistani origin who are all muslim. Plenty of evidence about Finsbury Park Mosque. And impossible to deny islamic attacks when they happen in broad day light on Westminster bridge.

The issue is her religion is made the defining characteristic even though it isn't relevant to what she says. Every citizen gets treatment under the NHS, it's not unique to Muslims.

There is no other minority that this is acceptable to do to.
