She’s out of the coma and talking to her lawyers. Aibu to think the state of Tennessee can’t possibly try to do the lethal injection again ? Surely not? People on Reddit are suggesting she might need an amputation of one of her arms because of how caustic pentobarbital is.

Untrue.

I’ll rephrase. Your response was awful.

I don't understand why people want her to have the choice to live. Her victim didn't get that choice. I think there is a sort of justice in her suffering being dragged out and out for the rest of her miserable life. It reflects her victim's suffering. She will have to be killed one way or another.

Because the death sentence is primitive and barbaric, and should have no place in today's society.

Because revenge is not justice.
I don't understand how people can believe murder and torture is wrong and yet think state sanctioned murder and torture is fine.
And I don't understand how people can call themselves Christian and still think revenge ok.
This woman has suffered for her whole life both emotionally and physically and then has to endure horrifying failed execution. Even for those who believe in revenge isn't that enough?

It’s not her choice. It’s the “justice” system.

if you think the “justice” is in her suffering for the rest of her life, why do you want to end that suffering with death?

why doesn’t every murderer get the death penalty? Why did the man who committed the crime with her only get life?

imo this woman was not some killing psychopath. She had a brutal childhood, had brain damage. Those who inflicted that on her and led to the person she is are also accountable. And that includes the state who do not help abused children and young adults.

healthcare and counselling and Slemmer may still be alive. There’s a whole range of contributory factors- it’s not one woman gone rogue.
