Personal I'd put him and all the others like him into exactly the same conditions!

Zov · 05/10/2026 14:14

He needs to get a month in jail for every rescued dog. 84 months! (7 years!) Poor little things. 😢

He won't though, because animals are not valued enough by society.

Near where I used to live some 20 years ago, some cunt cut a young pony with razor blades, 23 times. Poor baby was in such pain, and needed emergency treatment. He survived and was OK after a few months, but suffered terrible trauma.

Animal abusing cunt got a £1000 fine and was forbidden from keeping horses for 10 years.

Fuck my life. Confused

muddleofpuddle · 05/10/2026 14:24

I'd lock him up and throw away the key if it was up to me, but as a PP said we think we're of more value than other animals because we know how to operate electricals.

I am just so glad they got to the dogs in time. I understand a lot of them have found new homes, if it is the same case I've seen on some platforms.

ohmaaaan · 05/10/2026 14:26

It suggests to me something very strange was going on. I’m not sure prison is a particularly sensible option but of course he shouldn’t be allowed to have animals again.

Why don't you think prison is a sensible option? Best place for a cunt like this. It's about time animal cruelty and abuse had a custodial sentence.

dottiedodah · 05/10/2026 14:32

muddleofpuddle Yes I think all but one rehomed .Sadly one put down . 2 Patterdales (both rehomed I think) and 2 cats as well!

Anyone else wondering how someone who couldn't see this was an issue is working in social care?

SilenceInside · 05/10/2026 14:33

A children's social worker! Wow.

I wonder if he or his wife/son were breeding these dogs and intending to sell them? Or was it an animal hoarding situation??

Looking at the sentencing guidelines for this type of offence, a prison sentence would seem unlikely, unfortunately.

Because I don’t think it was borne from deliberate cruelty: it’s too peculiar for that. It makes no difference to the dogs that this wasn’t the intent of course but prison as an act of vengeance isn’t something I’m really on board with.

I understand what you mean. However I also feel someone who could live this way and with this much neglect for animals should have their work reviewed thoroughly and be taken off any professional roles overseeing children and family circumstances. Admin roles might be OK but they should not be anywhere near decision making.

dottiedodah · 05/10/2026 15:30

I would hope and assume that he was no longer working in a safeguarding role. As a professional man he had scant regard for any of his pets or their well being sadly.A prison sentence would send out a clear message that this will not be tolerated

The pictures of the happy regimes dogs are so lovely to see.

he's hideous and absolutely should serve a sentence.

Agreed. Chucking someone in gaol and throwing the key away is not always the most constructive response.

It's worth bearing in mind that the three people (adults) found guilty of animal cruelty were also living in this house, which was inches deep in excrement with filth smeared three feet up the wall.

Those are not the actions of well or stable people. If you have a strong stomach, watch the videos from the RSPCA body cameras, and then decide whether a normal person off the street would choose to live like that.

The owners must be held accountable, of course, but a prison sentence is not the only way to do that.

I think there will an overriding element of mental health issues going on here. Nobody hoards 84 dogs without being mentally disordered in some way.

Ihateboris · 05/10/2026 16:13

This really fucking upset me so much. I can't unsee the video and it's just so, so upsetting. Sorry, but anyone who intentionally hurts an animal should suffer...prison isn't enough.

Well, quite.

It is surprising he had a responsible job but we cannot know if he was signed off or on capability proceedings or anything like that.

I do think that people become quickly accustomed to grim surroundings and you just stop seeing it after a while.

He was living in those conditions.

Someone doesn't do this because they're evil or for the joy of it. It's mental illness in action.

I'm not excusing his behavior but no one in their right mind wants to live in a home with 84 dogs and shit/piss on every surface.

Ihateboris · 05/10/2026 16:18

The posters blaming it on mental health conditions, would you say the same for the 100s of other similar instances that have happened? In any case, mental health issue or not, they need some kind of punishment. I'm sick to death of everyone blaming mental health issues when someone commits some God awful atrocity. Some people are just evil - plain and simple

So you don't think his neglect of these innocent dogs (some of which had to be euthanasised) warrants punishment?

It's not the simple. You can't fix mental illness by punishing it.

Of course he should face consequences for his actions as should the other two but throwing him in jail isn't going to improve anything.

I'd personally like to see them being made to volunteer at a rescue cleaning pens and such. It's giving back to society in a small way and would be a much more productive outcome, especially alongside some very robust mental health help.

Personally I don't think they should be anywhere near animals. Perhaps let them clean our streets or scrub graffiti, but definitely shouldn't be near animals.

I’ll answer. No, I don’t. It isn’t going to bring the dogs back and it isn’t going to help anybody. I DO think he should never be allowed to keep animals again of course. But I don’t think a custodial sentence is going to do anything other than make some people feel good he got his just desserts somehow.

So by your logic "prison won't bring the dogs back" so no point. Why put murderers in prison? It won't bring the victim back?

Sometimes we don’t, do we? Sometimes they end up in a secure hospital. The point is there that public safety is paramount.

Prison has three purposes: retribution, reform and public safety. In this case, as horrible as it is for the dogs, I don’t think any of those boxes are really ticked.
