AIBU to think taking a pet cat on the bus is unusual

Is it strange to see a cat on the bus with it's owner?
A man boarded the bus yesterday with a cat. It was like his accessory fancy collar etc, and he was saying he was going to start taking the cat on the bus now.
Clearly enjoying it?

Has anyone else even seen someone board with a cat in arms?

I do not have a car (nor drive). I have taken my tortoise on the tube and overground to the lady who boarded him while I was away. More recently, I had to travel across London by tube +overground with my parrot to a holiday boarder (they are hard to find)I wouldn't do it again,as he found the doors opening and brakes noises quite upsetting and strange people kept wanting to look at and talk to him. I have now nice neighbours who pop in and look after him at home if I have to be away.

I sat next to a hairless cat in a bag in a cafe last week. (Not a cat cafe). He was calm & well trained.

First time for everything.

couldn’t imagine taking one of mine anywhere- it would be chaos 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

I would have been delighted to see a tortoise on the tube.
