Looking after neighbours suitcase

Neighbour of ours, friendly known her for about 7 years is off on holiday next week.
We were talking about it over the wall yesterday and informed me she will be taking 3 cases and would it be ok if I keep the suitcases (packed) in my living room until the morning she gets picked up. I said yes of course and didn't ask why. My husband doesn't understand why we need to keep them here. I said don't be silly we are neighbours and it's the right thing to do. That's not unreasonable is it?

I’m assuming she’s concerned that the taxi driver may pass on her details to burglars so she’s going to get picked up from your house not hers.

The drug smuggling thing doesn’t make sense, because you declare when you check in that your suitcases have never been out of your possession. If you say they have you pass through enhanced screening.

@Bloozie we have a spare fridge/freezer in the garage, I actually use it quite a lot. DH offered it to one of his mates. Not sure why. When I told DH that it wasn't available, DH was mortified. Not mortified that he'd made a gaff, but mortified that he'd have say no to his friend. It was me who ended up texting him.

Maybe we're married to two brothers??

Oh my god!! I'd go mad, same with yours @Bloozie 🙈

Are all those crying 'paranoia' aware that it actually is a thing, houses getting burgled when the occupants are on holiday?

Older/Elderly women acting as or being used as drug mules is also a thing.

And why does this woman need to leave the three cases in OP's house the week before her trip?

This is the part I’m desperately want an answer for!! I keep checking to see if the OP has returned 😂

Leaving from next door is ok though? 🤣🤣

When I was a child, my parents used to call a taxi to my neighbours house and we all stood outside it with our suitcases.

Is anyone else worried that the OP hasn’t been back and may have either been arrested…… or is in fact, now inside the suitcases?

And the neighbour who originally forced OP into the suitcase was travelling from Manchester to San Francisco, so naturally the case is still languishing in the airport lost property in Jo'burg!
