AIBU to think my friend is overdoing emergency stockpiling?

I get that we have been advised to stock up on essentials, though I think it will encourage panic buying. I will probably get a few days worth of stuff at some point . My friend however has, at least in my opinion gone ott about it. She’s stocking up a six month supply of food. She’s bought head torches, a camping gas stove and various other stuff. She thinks I’m being naive …Am I missing something here ?

My biggest issue, as someone who needs daily meds, is sourcing a buffer against supply disruption. (my GP won't prescribe more than monthly.)

Has anyone any experience of importing prescription meds into the UK?
Or any ideas about reputable companies?
I understand you can import a small amount for personal use, with a copy of your prescription, but also that customs can/invariably do charge huge fees for opening and inspecting the shipment.
Coupled with the large initial cost and expensive shipping, this is likely to be a very expensive matter… but peace of mind would be good.

I just order my meds a few days early evri month so I've gradually built up a reserve.
