MumofCandR · Yesterday 11:53

They are utter cowards and hypocritical. The same ilk will state they're against the burkha and protests by environmental groups etc. but are happy to mask their faces in 'protest' the reality is they're just nasty specimens of humanity, full of people with self righteous white supremacy tendencies. AIBU.

How many people accepted by the other method would ‘massively reduce arrivals’?

Your tone is so grim. You asked me the same question I’d already answered, and now you’re demanding an answer to something else. I’ve responded to you in good faith, wondering why bothered since you’ve nothing to contribute yourself.

Do your own research, come to your own conclusions, then maybe we can have a meaningful discussion. Or not, I don’t mind.

Make your mind up. The evidence is either 'out there' if PP 'opened her eyes' or it exists only in secret for people with secrety jobs to hint at on MN when they've dug themselves a hole.

It us also out there, stop being so ignorant

It doesn’t seem very workable or thought through. Ik you’re probably realising it wouldn’t work.

Daniel Thomas has quite the background.

Thomas – who goes by the name Danny Tommo – was handed a two-year sentence in 2016 for an attempted kidnap after targeting the wrong man. He and two others arrived at the victim’s home in Hampshire armed with knives. Portsmouth Crown Court heard how they punched him, pinned him against a wall, grabbed and pulled his T-shirt, trying to force him from his home. But their victim resisted, clinging to the door frame. The bungling perpetrators fled in a car, shouting: “We’ll be back.” However, realising they had got the wrong person, one of the trio later sent the victim a Facebook message apologising.
Meanwhile, Thomas was said to have made inflammatory comments online in the wake of last year’s attack on a children’s dance class in Southport. Hope Not Hate (HNH) says on its website: “Daniel Thomas (AKA Danny Tommo), Tommy Robinson’s associate... shared a video in the hours after the Southport attack claiming that ‘we need to do something very extreme’ and ‘every city needs to go up’. Two days later, Thomas would lead a demonstration at Whitehall at which more than 100 people would be arrested.

It's really wick that Mumsnetters cheer these violent, criminal cunts in balaclavas, on.Hmm

Bollocks! I havent seen pro palestine demonstrators with balaclavas on. When the police are busy arresting 70 year old women who are sat on the pavement holding a piece of cardboard those women are definitely not hiding their faces - probably because they aren't cowards.

Those thugs in Dover dont dare show their faces - how very brave of them 🙄🙄

Yet oddly enough Kent Police reported no arrests were made 🙄
So where were these"thugs" you speak of?

Why were they protesting at Dover's port? Do they have something against hauliers, or people off to Brittany on their hols? Why did they all feel the need to wear head to toe black, and ski masks? It's almost as if they were told to wear the get up to look intimidating, otherwise surely most of them would have been in trackies, jeans or shorts and t-shirts.

Maybe they don' like fairies?🧚‍♀️🧚‍♂️🧚‍♀️

A failed asylum seeker jailed for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old schoolgirl has lost his bid to avoid deportation after a judge ruled he was not bisexual and remained a danger to Britain.

Karam Majdi, 27, had claimed in a last-ditch asylum appeal that he could not be sent back to Egypt because he is bisexual and would face persecution.

But a judge has dismissed his appeal in full – finding that his deportation 'was and remains in the public interest'.

His immigration tribunal also rejected Majdi's claim to be Syrian and found his account of relationships with men was inconsistent and unsupported by evidence.

Judge R Abdar concluded: 'I am satisfied that the appellant has failed to rebut the presumption of the appellant posing a danger to the community.

'I am not satisfied that the Appellant is bisexual.'

Majdi, who arrived late to his hearing last month, now faces deportation after serving half of his seven-year sentence for the sex attack on the girl he met online in 2017. He is accused of lying that he was an unaccompanied child from Syria who had been fighting in Aleppo when he arrived in the UK by small boat in 2016.

The rapist had been living in a hostel in Hove when he travelled to East Croydon and assaulted the girl in what the judge described as an 'opportunistic' and 'vile' attack that left the victim's thighs black and blue.

He pinned her down, despite her protestations, his trial heard.

Majdi, who claims his identity documents were lost at sea on his way to Britain, was sent to a youth offender institution before his release in 2021.

In his latest bid to fight deportation and remain in the UK, Majdi told the authorities he is bisexual.

This was initially considered by the Government – before it was reviewed and challenged by the Home Office the day before his appeal hearing.

At the deportation tribunal it was heard that he was deemed 'high risk to children'.

If you are a civil servant dealing with sensitive data such as this, then you will have signed the official secrets act, and should under no circumstances be disclosing details from that data on social media.

Neither should those purporting to be working with victims of VAWG be sharing sensitive information, but that never seems to stop them.

5128gap · Yesterday 20:10

Dersie · Yesterday 20:02

So tell us where to find it then. Because I've looked as well and I can't find any data to support your claim.
No one with hard evidence to support their claims ever refuses to reveal it. They are keen to prove themselves right.
The people who say "look for yourself" "I'm not here to educate you" "do your own research" without so much as one credible reference are invariably making it up as they go along.

Here’s the best evidence that’s ’out there’ . ONS data on characteristics of victims.

Black and Mixed-ethnicity adults had significantly higher overall sexual-assault victimisation than White, Asian or Other adults. Narrowing the focus on rape specifically, there is no statistically significant difference between ethnicities.

Did you read upthread with the link to an article explaining the silent marches of the KKK?
I bet they and their supporters would just say "they're just peacefully walking, where's the thugs?"
It's done to intimidate and you're blind if you can't see that. Or agree with them.

There is a big difference between improperly sharing information and illegally breaching the official secrets act, which is a criminal offence.

I know there is. However, working with victims of abuse requires huge levels of confidentiality and tact. That's probably why I rarely believe those saying they are in that profession.

It’s a fair point, but lack of arrests doesn’t always mean we want to see a repeat. Look at the soft handling of those morons in Middlesbrough setting fire to cars. Sometimes no intervention is safer, given the lack of resources police have now.

Nobody has but being in certain positions shouldn't require that job role to be shared on SM. It's normally a point scoring tactic, which conveniently pops up on every immigration thread.

Lots of protests involve peaceful marching, likening that simple activity to the KKK who committed atrocities is done purely to shock. It's an appalling and rather desperate false equivalence.

Don't be so daft. And there's no such thing as 'white supremacy'.

What do you mean that there's no such thing as 'white supremacy'? Of course white supremacy existsts. Examples are the White Australia policies from the 1890s to the mid-1970s, apartheid in South Africa and the Klu Klux Klan. More recently Stormfront and the Proud Boys in the USA are white supremacists.

No, no there won’t be. I don’t know where you’re getting this idea from but its wildly inaccurate. Of course there won’t be “full on race wars”. And who is “our”? Are you assuming all British men are white? Daft.

How very dare white men not stay down at the bottom of the pile, where they are told they belong. I also agree with you. Treat people like shit for long enough and they will turn. They are stereotyped no matter what they do.

True. Is protesting quietly an issue?

Bollihobs · Yesterday 20:22

MumofCandR · Yesterday 14:35

Freedom to protest is absolutely sacrosanct - covering faces with balaclavas is not protesting it's thuggery. Every protest in the last few years has not had that, that's a statement not based on fact. Your post has a tone of cynical whataboutery.

Every protest in the last few years has not had that.

What utter, utter rubbish! Now you're the one making things up hoping it will pass as fact if you sound righteous enough.

There wasn't a single arrest made, not one. Not my definition of thuggery.

And no, as far as Starmer was concerned freedom to protest is not sacrosanct, as a PP has pointed out.
