Masked men at Dover - KKK vibes

MumofCandR · Yesterday 11:53

They are utter cowards and hypocritical. The same ilk will state they're against the burkha and protests by environmental groups etc. but are happy to mask their faces in 'protest' the reality is they're just nasty specimens of humanity, full of people with self righteous white supremacy tendencies. AIBU.

I'm sure Burnham will get a grip of it soon. Not yet though. He has more pressing policies like making subscriptions easier to cancel to implement first

I was skeptical about King Andy but I have to say I was impressed by the way he stopped PC Harper's killers being released early so maybe, just maybe he might actually act here.

Metalmotha · Yesterday 17:25

Quite frankly the country is on the brink of civil war. There’s just too many divisions. Multiculturalism can’t work, society cannot withstand being pulled in different directions, the gap between rich and poor is unsustainable in a capitalist society, the effects of technology has left too many without meaning, people are exposed to too many conflicting ideologies too easily. There’s too many people in the country for into resources and infrastructure to support.

Rage and protest are happening across the political spectrum (at least they aren’t attacking female police offficers with hammers )

Ozp by making this a left/right thing you are part of the problem but probably can’t see it because you’ve bought the lie about being part of the “virtuous left”

Hang on, you're saying it's only white youths committing crime.

Nope. Where I live the masked youth committing crime and intimidating the local population and causing untold misery are white. That does not feed into the pp post, which I quoted, that it is immigrants who commit crime.

I have no doubt that young men of all races and creeds commit crimes. Countering that by marching in sequence while dressed in black and masked up seems counter intuitive.

LuckyHazelFox · Yesterday 17:26

Switchnow · Yesterday 17:24

Upturned? I don’t know where in London you live but I can’t think of a single Saturday that my life has been disrupted by pro-Palestine (or any other) protests. Probably because they’ve been legally permitted and are not in areas that cause disruption.

Then you won't have a problem with these lads, since you believe protests are always reasonable. Not that the gaslighting is working.

DontBuyAnotherBook · Yesterday 17:26

Did we really want the individual, let's face it a man, coming to our shores who stabbed other migrants in the boats? No thanks!

Oo I might take out a Times newspaper subscription if he's doing that. I had ever such a hassle cancelling it a few years ago. It won't happen though. Captain Underpants is another wet lettuce 🙄

That's where you live, not nationally.

Don’t tell lies, you love to try gaslighting.
I noticed on that other thread that you failed to acknowledge the sexual assault in the 10 year old on the grounds of the hotel.
You ignored that 💯. or that residents had been peacefully protesting 6 months before the worst fear came true.
More than once, you ignored this.

Anyone as I mentioned previously, I didn’t recognise your username automatically today.
I will not debate or discuss anything with anyone who refused to acknowledge a 10 year old.
www.irishtimes.com/crime-law/courts/2025/11/19/man-accused-of-sex-assault-of-girl-10-near-citywest-fit-to-be-tried/

The pure arrogance of thinking I ‘ignored’ your post rather than you just got lost among the thread. It’s kind of cute that you’re bothered.

What would you like to me to acknowledge? That a horrific crime was reported and is being tried? Of course, why would I not acknowledge that? How does that explain masked men standing in front of cars in a different country containing children and refusing to allow them to pass? Or patrolling playgrounds? Do you think these balaclavad men have never harmed a child? You’re a fool if so.

You’re feverish in your obsession with the worst sex crimes and incapable of looking at the big picture. No government can magically prevent the arrival of men, women and children seeking asylum. The solution is complex, expensive and takes time. If it was solved by popping on a tracksuit and catching a train to a port or patrolling a playground I’m pretty sure it would have been solved by now.

And your point is?

Could I ask those on this thread who are planning to vote for Reform in the next GE, specifically on this issue - what do you think Reform will do?

StandFirm · Yesterday 17:32

Vivi0 · Yesterday 16:52

@StandFirm

No - it is completely irrelevant.

I voted against Brexit. I would much rather be in the EU. But that would not stop small boat migrants from getting into dinghy’s, and crossing the channel.

Edited

Not quite - data sharing is much more difficult now and it makes tackling the problem harder and more expensive.

NotAnotherScarf · Yesterday 17:32

Baldrapunzel · Yesterday 17:17

The hyperbole in your post doesn't help. Round here, it's not immigrants intimidating locals and causing fear and consternation, it's balaclava clad white youths stealing cars and ramming them into shops and houses. It's white youths roaming the streets in gangs looking for lone people to rob.

Any large group of people dressed in black and wearing masks is intimidating, no matter who their target is. Historically such groups are never out to promote peace and community cohesion. And it never ends well.

But there hasn't been this outpouring of self righteous indignation about the countless times that the far left have appeared masked and Moreover ready to commit violence. Look at the YouTube clip from Bristol the other week with a right wing march and a counter protest...who is wearing masks and attacking others?

British culture is changing. Vape shops on every street. That gets one customer and hour. A town near me has 10 barber shops with 100 yards...you are telling me that these are legal enterprises...they are not run by native English speakers.

When elections are influenced by imams (Birmingham). Where children are abused Rochdale, Bradford, Oxford, Telford, Keighley, London and the authorities are scared to do anything because of the fear of being labelled racist. We need to realise that we can't continue to take people from abroad who have no idea about or respect of British culture.

It probably will start crumbling now, Poland and Hungary have put policies in place. We’ll see how Germany and France vote.

But yes politicians can change what we’re seeing.

The point is crime exists outside just your personal experience.

I don't even know what 'military intervention' means here. Does it mean the navy shooting at the boats? Have we become that kind of a country?

I wouldn't have thought so. The military can get things done without shooting people.

Baldrapunzel · Yesterday 17:35

LuckyHazelFox · Yesterday 17:32

It does. But numerous posters appear to believe that if we rid the country of immigrants it will be a land of milk and honey. I was just pointing out that there are many regions where it's not immigrants who are poisoning communities.

LuckyHazelFox · Yesterday 17:26

Let me know where I said protests are always reasonable and I’ll correct it. Pretty sure I pointed out that the pro Palestine protests were permitted. And you’ll obviously understand that permitted is a legal term meaning permits were applied for and granted.

If the masked men in Dover applied for their permits, then that protest would also have been perfectly legal, and they would not hwve caused any disruption. But that’s not the case is it? It was an unlawful protest.

So, assuming you support them, you’ll also be fine with any random people disrupting traffic to protest whatever they feel like.

That doesn't need pointing out - we already know it.

I wouldn't have thought so. The military can get things done without shooting people.

But what does it actually mean though? I bet the 59% of people think a thousand different things. What could they do, how could they do it, and do we have the right kit and personnel to do it? I have no idea. Military intervention is barely more useful a phrase than stop the boats.

Civil war? Stop reading the internet and go outside.

The self proclaimed leader of this protest tweeted this morning ‘Christ is risen’, so I guess we can assume this was a religious protest as much as anything else.

There we have it - a distorted form of protestant Christianity with white supremacy and nationalist ideology, masked participants... chilling parallels to to the KKK.

From the river to the sea and its connotations terrify Jews. Chilling parallels to 1930s Germany.

Every demonstration that has happened in the last few years everyone has had their faces covered.

Thankfully our country is still a democratic society where within the law, freedom of speech is acceptable.

There are plenty of countries around the world where freedom of speech is not allowed, women rights are non existent, and people are dictated too how they choose to live their lives.

whatever yours or my opinion of these demos, we do have the freedom to protest - be very careful siding with people who want to erode peoples rights

I've been on 2 anti-racist marches in the last year, one in Brighton last Autumn and the big one in London earlier this year, and I didn't see anyone with their faces covered.

There are no parallels to the KKK and tbh you really do a disservice to the poor victims who suffered at the hands of them. Stop the appalling false equivalence.

Disagree fine but saying a few people protesting is like the KKK is disgusting, you should be ashamed of yourself.
