To share this fantastic documentary exposing Reform for the crooks and traitors that they really are. Thank you for sharing @ihateboris

I'd recommend watching it to the end.

Yes what a sting. Great journalism by C4. How they could deny the allegations of criminal activity after this I don't know. Their MO is to deny and deflect and have no accountability.

Absolutely shocking scenes but sadly unsurprising. Farage and his cronies think the rules don't apply to them. They don't care about anything except money and taking everything they can get.

TheGrimSmile · Yesterday 21:58

He just thinks he's untouchable. Corrupt fucker.

There is a typo in the thread title. @mumsnet can it please be changed to share not skate. Thank you.

I've literally just asked for it to be corrected. It's called a typo not weird English.

Reform are terrible but sadly I think their “supporters” won’t care because “foreigners”. 🤦‍♀️

He really does. It makes me wonder what else he's gotten away with. I reckon he has some very big skeletons hiding in his closet. He's bent and would sell this country out at the first opportunity. He's a scoundrel not a patriot.

Not big. Not clever. Definitely not as amusing as you think you are.

Sadly, you're probably right. I think it might shed them at least a few percentage points in the polls though. The cultists will remain. They really are the UK MAGA crowd, how they can't see that he's an odious man who views them with contempt is beyond me. How he and his peers must laugh at them whilst drinking champagne and eating oysters.

They’ll still get votes though. Folk will either not see it or think it’s ‘the establishment’ trying to destroy the man of the people.

Mami2Cymraeg · Yesterday 22:17

Brilliant piece of journalism, but unfortunately, I don't think many Reform voters will watch it.

BurntBroccoli · Yesterday 22:17

Nope entirely reasonable and everyone needs to know about it.

Farage comes across as very establishment in it too which is delicious!

Quitelikeit · Yesterday 22:18

What has he allegedly done? I can’t watch clips

randomchap · Yesterday 22:19

It'll not change the minds of their hardcore fans, those who still believe in Brexit, and getting rid of the foreigners.

But it could help stop floating voters thinking that Reform PLC are a serious, proper party.

He is literally the establishment in this video!

Share far and wide! I think it’ll be all over the news tomorrow plus The Telegraph will be attending the Reform Party conference tomorrow as one of the unbanned journalists!

What has he allegedly done? I can’t watch clips

Here is the description from Channel 4.

Channel 4 News and @VerbatimInvestigations, a group of investigative journalists, reveal a plot to break the law on party funding at the highest levels of Reform UK.

Earlier this year James Orr, the party’s Head of Policy, and Dan Jukes, a close aide to Nigel Farage, arranged for a US company to secretly fund three influential polls that were commissioned by the party.

Mr Orr and Mr Jukes did not know that the supposed donors behind the US company were actually an undercover team from Verbatim posing as a wealthy American and his UK-based son, “William Lockwood”.

The US company that made the poll payments and the supposed American financier, resident in the US, are not permissible donors under electoral law. Donations of this size must be declared to the Electoral Commission.

Mr Jukes also proposed a scheme to get a larger sum of money into the party by having the American father donate via his UK-resident son. This would be illegal.

The undercover work was conducted by Verbatim, an investigative group independent of Channel 4 News that was founded by journalists from the Centre for Climate Reporting.

After being approached by Verbatim with the findings, journalists at Channel 4 News have since thoroughly checked and verified them. Channel 4 News did not pay for the polling and paid no money to Verbatim or any associated company.

Channel 4 News approached Reform UK, Mr Farage, Mr Jukes and Mr Orr for comment on the findings of this investigation. They did not comment but we understand they deny the allegations in full.

JL Partners, which conducted the polls, said it holds itself to high standards. A spokesman said: "Despite there being no concern about the accuracy of our work, the report did reveal weaknesses in our procedures. For that reason JL Partners is reviewing those procedures in order to eliminate possible grey areas and ambiguities and strengthen our safeguards for the future."

A spokesperson from Telegraph Media Group said: "We are reviewing our future relationship with this polling company, as we believe we have been misled. As a matter of precaution we have suspended the relevant articles while The British Polling Council conducts a review."

The Times said it “was not made aware of Reform’s involvement in commissioning and arranging payment of the poll”.

The British Polling Council said its members must declare publicly who has commissioned their polls. A spokeswoman said: “From the information provided to us by Channel 4 News, it appears there may have been deliberate breaches of this rule."

As PP have said, the worst part about it is that I don’t think the majority of Reform voters will care in the slightest.

Most Reform voters can’t actually articulate why they vote for them beyond a) bloody foreigners b) stop the boats and c) good old Nige is the man of the people.

I don’t think they especially care about his £5 million bung and they certainly won’t care about this - not that they’ll even know about it in all probability.

Putneydad7 · Yesterday 22:27

Given that Trump rapes, steals, lies, demands money for favours, etc. Reform taking a bit of cash is pretty small beer.
it is wrong and the rules are there for a reason, but their voters are pretty rabid about immigration and won’t give a monkey’s about this.
maybe floating voters would be warned off.

I think somehow we need to show these people that Reform probably don't actually care about foreigners. They're just a scapegoat. They need to realise the reason why their lives are shit, are because of people like these donating to Reform. The very wealthy who hoover up the wealth and property etc. We need to somehow get through to Reform voters that they're being played to enrich the already wealthy elite around the globe. Same with Trump. It was never about helping their voters. How we make them see that they're pawns I don't know, but we need to try...

Hopefully, after this, they'll hopefully not "survive" as a polical party so will no longer be "available" to support. 🤞

Reform voters might have a long memory though - how do you persuade them that the wealthy elite are not routinely funding other parties as well? e.g. Labour and Lib Dems:

I caught it earlier on and couldn't quite believe it. But it turns out there's now definitive proof that Nigel Farage and Reform UK are traitors.Angry

Cheap traitors at that!Hmm
