AIBU to question Farage and Reform’s silence on Middlesbrough violence?

Why hasn't Farage commented on what has happened in Middlesborough? Does he not care that innocent people, including a child and police officers have lost their lives? Could it be that he sees the people involved in this gang related violence as his potential voter base? Or that he doesn't care about the police, his previous actions suggest that he doesn't. It's quite sinister that Reform have had nothing to say about this. It suggests they don't want to offend the mindless thugs. Yet, mindless thugs are a huge part of what is wrong with this country.

Without doubt if the perpetrators hadn't been white he would have been all over the story!

I agree with you. There's a marked absence of cold rage; unsurprisingly.

BMW58 · Today 17:10

I doubt any of them have ever bothered voting 🙄

There is. And we all know why.

I'm not a shill, it's a genuine question. What are his motives to ignore this story? When you think about it's very revealing. The perpetrators and the victims are all white. All decent people in this country are in agreement that the perpetrators are scum, so why do Reform have nothing to say? Is it because they want to destabilise institutions, and in turn refuse to show support for the police? Or is it because they don't want to offend scum who'll vote for them? Ten years ago every party would have called this out. Why haven't they?!

The Reform mob keeping their collective gobs firmly shut is something to be welcomed. They have nothing worthwhile to say on any matter.

But they never keep their mouths shut when it's non-white people causing trouble?

Well you're not wrong there. However, there silence reminds me of Trump and his 'good people' on both sides shtick.

No pure cold rage or protect our women and children 🤔

The police have today said that the fire wasn’t linked to the crash

I wasn't aware of that, thank you. But the question still stands. Left or Right, nobody wants to live in a society where mindless morons are driving the wrong way down motorways. Why no comment on the fact?

NeverDropYourMooncup · Today 17:34

It's his core voter base. Of course he won't say anything to criticise the people whose votes he relies upon.

Too very close to home to consider what Reform think about it at the moment

I reported the poster who tried to imply that you were a shill, OP. It certainly takes one to know one!

Funnily enough, threads critical of Reform seem to attract the attention - and interference - of malign actors. Wonder why.

itsgettingweird · Today 17:42

He gets these people to vote for him because he tells them it’s the immigrants fault their lives are they way they are.

But he doesn’t actually care.

He’s not interested in the realities of the result of disenfranchisement.

He just want a blame game and votes.

Im not the least bit surprised he’s not spoken.

He doesn’t actually care fuck all for Clacton who have a similar demographic.

TomatoGlut · Today 18:07

He's been too busy attending Farage Fest. A Reform run party in Clacton to celebrate his by election success. The invitation only event was held in an airfield where Farage talked on stage and there was a ferris wheel, booze and camping

Reform are in trouble for failing to get the necessary council licences to hold the festival.

I'm not making this up, honestly.www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crm9w702k1lo

Quite a weird post OP. News outlets have heavily implied that this i related to Travellers and their various criminal activities and familial disputes. I'm not sure why that would be in Farage's wheelhouse any more than any other politician. Or do you think he is like the Official Ambassador for White People now?

Auspiciousminds · Today 18:21

He hasn't been able to find a way to blame what's happened on immigrants. If the 5 people in the car had been brown, whether immigrants or not, he'd have been shouting from the rooftops about it.

As it is, his lack of response shows exactly how little he cares about the police, despite previous suggestions by himself to say otherwise. Not sure, has Badenoch said anything?

It's not weird. My point is that he whips people up into a frenzy if brown or black people do wrong, but doesn't seem to care if it's white people. He doesn't care about criminality or dangerous behaviour if white people are the perpetrators. It's the double standards. Previously, people on the conservative spectrum stood for law and order and supported the police. He clearly does not!

Farage only supports himself.

He’s not interested in actual people and policy.

Just disrupting those who do.

LuckyHazelFox · Today 19:01

I reckon with the amount of Farage threads, it's the thread starters who are more infatuated with race than Farage.

TopPocketFind · Today 19:03

Reform has nothing beyond immigrant hate.

Farage is avoiding scrutiny at the moment.
