To get my own back on nasty neighbour?

We are due to move next week after enduring such an awful bitchy atmosphere in a cul de sac.

It started of with this neighbours kids leaving their bikes on my driveway.
I never once said anything to her or her awful kids instead I took the appropriate measures as advised by the HA as I didn't want a confrontation/ bad atmosphere.

Anyway she still says hello and smiles to me and OH.

As it's been really hot and all windows have been open I overhead her talking about me to my next door neighbour.
There was no reason for her to make this comment and my next door neighbour.

I was going to let it all go but now I have alot
of things I can report her to the HA which is breach of her tenancy.

And we are moving due to the awful atmosphere and she has been the ring leader and stirrer from day one.

We have felt felt on edge, watched and monitored and often spoken about by this bitch and I think
it's time she got her comeuppance.

AIBU to report her?

Yep why not, as long as they don't know where your moving to !!!

SunnyRedSnail · 12/08/2026 22:11

So she is polite to you and her kids leave their bikes on your drive sometimes?

Sorry but you sound the odd one here. You haven't said anything they've done wrong.

tobebiggerpers · 12/08/2026 22:18

@SunnyRedSnail
Her kids would leave bikes on our drive.
Play on our drive.
Throw stones of our drainage onto our drive
She would also just be walking all over our drive as if it was a public footpath.

She would also bitch about us to other neighbours but to our faces say hello.

What do you think the HA will do? What did she say about you?

LoyalGoldMentor · 12/08/2026 22:24

Not sure the housing association would be particularly bothered to be honest. Her being 2 faced isn't their issue either.
Good luck with the move

A little annoying but nothing major.

tobebiggerpers · 12/08/2026 22:28

Basically she leaves all her bins out in a communal area for other properties (including mine) to take out bins to be emptied.
She also leaves her kids bikes there overnight but the area is supposed to be kept clear.

She also fly tips down the road, last week she dumped carpet/rug.

I think just move house and erase her from your mind. That will make you feel better than starting a revenge campaign.

You think it fine to have random kids abandon their bikes on someone else’s drive? So if you want to park your car on your drive you’ve got to go track down people to move their bikes first? Okay……

ALovelyPinkUnicorn · 12/08/2026 22:56

You think this is report worthy @tobebiggerpers ? Are you trying get them evicted?

tobebiggerpers · 12/08/2026 23:01

@ALovelyPinkUnicorn- I don't think they would get evicted but it would be noted on their tenancy file.

The HO comes and does an inspection every so often and she warned the neighbour about leaving her bins/rubbish/bikes in the communal area before.

This is an illustration why most people who can prefer private housing rather than social. Those with an ownership stake tend, by simple incentives, to create a better environment for everyone. And the chances of having antisocial scum sad your neighbour is smaller (though not zero £.

Best of luck with the move. Hopefully your new neighbours are nicer, more pleasant people

MyArtfulGreySloth · 12/08/2026 23:35

Just move on and forget about her.

tobebiggerpers · 12/08/2026 23:55

@Btc76 This is the first and last time I have lived in social housing.

In previous tenancies I didn't even know my neighbours but moving here as been a real eye opener.
Everyone talks about everyone, tries to know your business via their ring door bell's.

I was made to feel strange for wanting to remain private and not wanting to engage further than a hello.

I have never experienced these issues in private renting/ living with parents either.

A lot of the home owners are also selling up as they are fed up of kids leaving bikes on their drive, kids damaging their property and the parents not parenting their children.

Thank you for your lovely reply, I am really hoping for a fresh start and nicer neighbours.

CountessBinface · 13/08/2026 00:49

Why would the housing association bother to investigate a complaint by someone who is moving out?

Darragon · 13/08/2026 04:07

So you want someone to potentially lose their home because her kids left their bikes on your drive and are drip drip dripping when anyone disagrees. Ok then. 🤔

JesseDavisGonnaHangOnInThereNSoul · 13/08/2026 04:21

Move on and leave the past behind
New begininings and all that.
We had an idiot neighbour for 6 years
So know it can be a pita.

WiltonGal · 13/08/2026 04:47

Just move on. You are wasting energy on nothing.

Meadowfinch · 13/08/2026 05:01

It all sounds very petty. Just move and forget them.

Exactly. As they say when you choose revenge you risk digging 2 graves. I really don't see what you would gain as you will probably never see her again anyway.

Mumtotornadoes · 13/08/2026 05:10

There really isn't anything in any of that you can report. You just don't like her. The HA don't care about that.

Just move and get on with your life. She hasn't done anything malicious to you at all. Why waste your energy on trying to be malicious to her?

Edited because of wrong thread

SupaStah · 13/08/2026 07:27

i Put yabu, mainly because I’m cynical after a bad neighbour experience.
Since you’re already moving reporting it will do nothing, they’ll get a note on their file (if anything at all!) and possibly get pissed off even more. What if they find your new address and make your lives hell etc. Thinking that you made their lives difficult by reporting them so they’re going to make your life difficult.
Keep your head down, move quietly and forget about them.

Its not the end of the world...

The OP made it sound like they were hammering on walls at all hours, and screaming and shouting at her.

itsgettingweird · 13/08/2026 08:18

When I lived I a cul de sac one family kept leaving their bikes on an elderly widows drive.

They picked him I think because they thought he was vulnerable.

Well they picked wrong.

One night the bikes disappeared off the drive and ended up in some bushes where they couldn’t be seen and took a while to find.

they accused him of theft.

“if you think I broke into your property and stole your bikes then report me to the police”

So they did ….

but the bikes weren’t stolen from their property nor left securely on their property so all they got was advised to lock their bikes securely in their garden from now on.

Funnily enough they did!
