To get my own back on nasty neighbour?

We are due to move next week after enduring such an awful bitchy atmosphere in a cul de sac.

It started of with this neighbours kids leaving their bikes on my driveway.
I never once said anything to her or her awful kids instead I took the appropriate measures as advised by the HA as I didn't want a confrontation/ bad atmosphere.

Anyway she still says hello and smiles to me and OH.

As it's been really hot and all windows have been open I overhead her talking about me to my next door neighbour.
There was no reason for her to make this comment and my next door neighbour.

I was going to let it all go but now I have alot
of things I can report her to the HA which is breach of her tenancy.

And we are moving due to the awful atmosphere and she has been the ring leader and stirrer from day one.

We have felt felt on edge, watched and monitored and often spoken about by this bitch and I think
it's time she got her comeuppance.

AIBU to report her?

Its not the end of the world...

The OP made it sound like they were hammering on walls at all hours, and screaming and shouting at her.

Well maybe your expectations are different to mine. If the drive is mine to park my car on then i expect to have access 24/7 to my own property. I didnt know there were people around who think differently and think that its ok to dump your stuff on someone elses property. It kind of explains why theres so much anti social behaviour around....

If you want to be petty, then there is always a glitter bomb.

This is an illustration why most people who can prefer private housing rather than social. Those with an ownership stake tend, by simple incentives, to create a better environment for everyone. And the chances of having antisocial scum sad your neighbour is smaller (though not zero £.

Best of luck with the move. Hopefully your new neighbours are nicer, more pleasant people

Do you think all HA residents are antisocial scum?

Emmylou22 · 13/08/2026 12:59

Just move on and be thankful you'll never see them again.

The HA won't have the resources or time to deal with petty gripes. Particularly after you've moved out. And do you know how hard it is to take tenancy action on someone, even in severe ASB cases? Just leave it behind you now.

You think it fine to have random kids abandon their bikes on someone else’s drive? So if you want to park your car on your drive you’ve got to go track down people to move their bikes first? Okay……

No it's not ok but OP said she didn't say anything about it to her neighbour instead she reported her to the HA. Why not just ask her to tell her children not to use the drive?
OP's behaviour was as two faced as she is accusing her neighbour.
OP just put it all behind you, your neighbour's behaviour was annoying but it's not terrible. Just go and enjoy your new house.

I didn't say it was OK. I just said it wasn't the end of the world.

twinklystar23 · 13/08/2026 14:32

Really OP don't bother, you will be wasting your time. HA only give a shit about their rent. Whilst I have worked with a lot of serious neighborhood problems this is unenforceable she will be merely told to make sure her children don't do this, there will be no follow up, or anything that you are hoping for. Just leave it behind.

Fly-tipping is something I'd report.
But the rest of it just sounds like people living in one area trying to live their lives, kids being a bit stupid and careless.
Did the HA find you your new house?

I was waiting for what awful things they have done! Instead it was something slightly annoying

ButtercupYellow26 · 13/08/2026 20:17

So you don't like her? The HA will not care.
Just move and forget about her.

It’s not stupid nor careless to leave your stuff dumped on someone else’s driveway.

Of they are cognitively able enough to play out unsupervised then they are cognitively able enough to know where they live and what is their house!

IhateBegonias · 13/08/2026 21:11

Heck, YES!
especially about the fly tipping. I am sick of all the rubbish everywhere because of selfish/lazy people.
good luck in your new property!

Why would the housing association bother to investigate a complaint by someone who is moving out?

Exactly. Let the people who move into your soon to be former home deal with it if they choose to it.

tobebiggerpers · 14/08/2026 08:59

I have been made to feel very self conscious living here and heard her mocking my convo with my 2 year old the other day.

So yes I think it's about time I gave the bitch some payback.

I will be reporting the fly tipping this morning as well as the smell of marijuana at the weekend from her boyfriend who smokes.

@SunnyRedSnail
Her kids would leave bikes on our drive.
Play on our drive.
Throw stones of our drainage onto our drive
She would also just be walking all over our drive as if it was a public footpath.

She would also bitch about us to other neighbours but to our faces say hello.

honestly wouldn't bother me? nice to see kids playing outside and I would only ask them to move if I needed to park.

x2boys · 14/08/2026 15:50

tobebiggerpers · 12/08/2026 22:28

Basically she leaves all her bins out in a communal area for other properties (including mine) to take out bins to be emptied.
She also leaves her kids bikes there overnight but the area is supposed to be kept clear.

She also fly tips down the road, last week she dumped carpet/rug.

Your moving just let it go its all very petty
My housing associaton did nothing when my neighbour threatned and stole my then 15 year olds phone
Despite a long list other anti social behaviour
