To think my boyfriend should pay for replacement clothing he ruined when drunk?

When we got back from a night out with friends at the weekend, we were a bit worse for wear/tipsy.

When I got back into my bedroom after brushing my teeth and taking my make up off, DP said he was ‘goofing around’ and tried to put a pair of my knickers on as a joke. He’s quite a bit bigger than me so he’d ripped them completely as they wouldn’t even go over his thighs 😑

It was funny at the time , I then realised I only bought them the week before and they cost £40. I hinted at him buying a new pair, and then outright asked the next day, but he said it was an accident and don’t I have loads of others I can wear. I’ve said that’s not the point.

AIBU for expecting him to pay to replace them?

Assuming it's a completely isolated incident I'd just chalk it up to being something he did that was daft and he'd not do again.

So I'd not insist on them being replaced. But the world won't stop if I'm a pair of knickers down!

Of course he should.
If he refuses, he is showing you who he is.
