AIBU regarding our petsitter

We've had two decent pet sitters before, but they eventually bailed on us, so we had to look for another one. They’re decent enough, no issues in our return, but it turns out that the bed we gave them was too small for them (single bed) which we understand TBH, however the only other option is for them to sleep in our bed.

The main problem is that obviously is a bit short notice to find an alternative (or find another way to fix their problem).

So although we understand we’re also a bit miffed. So AIBU to feel this way?

What about an air mattress downstairs? You could get one off amazon with prime next day delivery.

Our pet sitters have our bed and I want them to enjoy their stay so make sure I leave our room welcoming. It's the best bedroom.

I do understand it feels intimate but you can cover the mattress and tidy your stuff away. That's what I do.

I would expect an adult to be fine to sleep in a single bed to be fair. Is the person particularly tall or wide?!!!

Yanbu. Buy a new separate set of bedding, pillows etc and put them on the bed for the cat sitter and a mattress protector too! Then it won't feel so personal.

We always expect cat sitters to sleep in our bed! It’s massive and the most comfortable for them!

I can't imagine having someone to stay in my house and expecting them to be uncomfortable when there's a more suitable room being unused. It seems very inhospitable.

Just change the sheets and put private things out of the way.

Believe me I tried! But I also had a massive blood loss (post partum) and I’ve never been anle
to get rid of it

I totally agree my bedroom is private and I do t want people in there among my stuff and I will not give up my bed for family never mind a paid pet sitter who had originally agreed to come in the basis of a single bed.

Get a mattress protector that zips all round your mattress. Like this one.

I’m still lost, as the post is so weird (and I’m not convinced it’s for real). You can’t honestly expect a couple to stay in a single bed. Unless you can find a petsitter who’s single, you must allow them to sleep in your room.

That photo shows a room with a lot more than 40cm wide floor space, OP. Why did you say that?

I’ve no idea why you’d book a pair of pet sitters when you only have a single bed available.

We are pet sitters and it’s usually clear on the ad what sort of room is available for the sitter.

Op, why don’t you buy a new matress for your bed? Not for the pet sitter but for you. It is some time since it was stained and mattresses are meant to be replaced ever 8 years.

We’re moving house in the not very distant future (basically relocating). So I’ve thought of basically just throw everything away and start anew.
